Ulster 2 Day 2026
CRCC was represented at the Ulster 2 day International Youth Tour by Aaron & Ashton last weekend.
The 3 stage race took place over two days consisting of a TT, Criterium and Road stage.
Ashton was in third on GC after the TT, 4th in the Crit and Third in the Road racd leaving him in 4th place overall on GC.
Aaron went into the TT further down the standings and the hotly contested Crut meant that there was limited opportunity to move up the GC standings as a strong bunch crossed the line together. In the final stage, Aaron was in the action til the end riding strongly in the wet conditions.
All eyes on Ulster roads again next week as the Carlow gang head north again for the National Championships.

Race Report 📝
Yesterday saw riders from CRCC participating in the Leinster Youth Championships and Peter Bidwell Memorial Races, hosted by Drogheda Wheelers in Donore.
First in action were the youths, with Carlow riders participating in races at under-14 and under-16 level.
U14
Ashton & Caden got into an early break and rode strongly the three-lap race. Ashton rolled over the line in first position🥇, while Caden came home in second 🥈. A 1-2 for Carlow!
U16
The under-16 race took off at a blistering pace, and with the group together after the first lap, the attack started coming, with Noah managing to go with the move at that early stage. Unfortunately he lost contact with the leader but rode strongly to finish in second place🥈. The follow group had Aaron riding well throughout. In the uphill sprint Aaron took third position 🥉. Second and third place for Carlow.
Our only Senior rider on the day was Brian. Riding in C2.
Thanks to Drogheda Wheelers for another great day of racing.

Youth Racing Report
On Wednesday at the Roche GP, Noah and Aaron represented CRCC in the under 16 race, while Ashton rode in club colours in the under 14 race.
Noah and Aaron finished safely in the bunch in what was a very fast and hotly contested race, while Ashton claimed the victory in his own race.
On the track, Naoise and Noah were successful recently, winning their categories in the recent Duane Delaney Track TGP in Sundrive.

We are all shocked and saddened to hear the sad news of Shane's passing.
Shane was held in such high regard by his racing companions and will be missed by all.
Shane's parents, siblings, family, clubmates, friends and all who will miss him are in our thoughts at this terrible time.
