DOLMEN DESERVED MORE FROM THE GAME AGAINST LEAGUE LEADERS

Dolmen celtic travelled out to rathvilly on Friday evening to face league leaders slaney rovers in torrential rain. The match started off at a ferocious pace for 35s level and was pretty even enough with both sides having opportunities to score but both goalkeepers kept the scoreline at nil nil. After 10 mins slaney rovers capitalised on some sloppy dolmen defending, when the dolmen defenders failed to communicate that Stephen mcgrath had time to take the ball down and dealt with it in the air to fall to an oncoming slaney attacker to start a 4 v3 counter in slaneys favour, Anthony Ernie Core in the dolmen goal dealt with the first attempt for the ball to fall straight back to the same player and he made no mistake to make it 1 nil to the home side. After this point dolmen took control of the game having most of the possession creating lots of chances but didn't really test the slaney goalkeeper too much. Slaney seemed reliant on a counter attack system and looked very dangerous on the counter but the dolmen defence and Ernie in the goal were organised very well. Adrian pudlik and Paul clancy in the midfield for dolmen were dominating and were winning a lot of ball to release Kevin coakley, James williamson, john Robinson and Patrick williamson who all had chances to equalise but failed and half time finished 1 nil to slaney rovers.

Second half began the same way the first half finished with dolmen dominating possession and looked in real control. James Williamson was picking up a lot of ball in between the lines and was looking very dangerous trying to break the defence with passes into space and shots from distance. 45 mins gone in the game and James picks up a lose ball just outside the area, slots a lovely pass to Kevin coakley to hit the ball first time into the far top corner looping the goalkeeper to make it 1 a piece and nothing more than dolmen deserved. Moments later tommy Jordan played a pass into the middle to James Williamson who let the ball run across his body and strike it first time from 25 yards out, the ball looked destined for the top corner only for it to hit the crossbar and go out. A couple mins later Dolmen were on the attack again this time Adrian pudlik setting john Robinson in to the area to square the ball to Patrick williamson 2 yards out and some how the ball managed to go over the bar. Slaney were always very quick on the counter and when their left winger got the better mick corr in a foot race and there's not too many that do mick dived in from the side but was a fraction too late and gave away a penalty. Slaneys no.10 stepped up who is also top goalscorer in the league at the moment and stuck it away to make it 2-1 to slaney. Dolmen kept going and were on top creating lots of chances with Kevin coakley and seamus farrell both having a couple of good chances but slaney were very dangerous on the counter and tge same left winger that caused the damage for the penalty got in one on one with Ernie but Ernie Core made a great save. Dolmen were playing some nice football from defence into midfield through flo, clancy and pudlik and when flo played the ball forward to James Williamson to flick the ball around the corner to Kevin coakley who played a great cross to seamus farrell but unfortunately headed wide. The game finished 2-1 to Slaney Rovers.

Dolmen will be feeling they deserved more from the game with it probably being their best performance of season and not getting a result. Best for Dolmen Celtic were Anthony Ernie Core in the goal, Paul Clancy and Kevin Coakley.

DOLMEN GET THE WIN IN LEIGHLINBRIDGE AFTER A DISSAPOINTING COUPLE OF WEEKS

Dolmen Celtic made the trip to the superbowl in leighlinbridge Friday evening to play st fiacs in league. Dolmens form hadn't been great leading into this one with just 4 points from their last 3 games and with st fiacs in good form since being beaten by slaney on the first day of the season winning every game since. This was gonna be a test for both sides. The opening exchanges were really tight and both sides cancelling each other out. Dolmen were starting to dominate the midfield battle and fiacs were looking confused and were running out of ideas leading to dolmens Adrian pudlik being everywhere and winning a lot of ball in the middle. 15 mins gone Adrian won the ball in the midfield, the ball fell to Eddie Davis who played a good ball to James Williamson on the far side of the pitch who took it down and played a superb ball into seamus farrell to make it 1 nil dolmen. Moments later williamson played a ball over the top to Kevin coakley, the ball seemed to be running out of play but coakley didn't give up on it, got to thd ball nutmegged the defender and played a great ball across to the oncoming farrelo to make it 2 nil to the away side. Just before halftime fiacs won a corner, dolmen fell asleep and fiacs capitalised with a good ball in by Jamie parr to the head of pop lawyer to make it 2-1 at halftime.

Second half began with fiacs having most of the ball looking to open up the dolmen defence but the dolmen defence wasnt having any of it dominating anything that came at them. Adrian pudlik was once again everywhere in midfield winning back the ball regularly and frustrating the fiacs lads. Adrian won the ball high up the pitch played a great ball in to James Williamson who took the ball down and took his shot quickly but snapped his shot over the bar. The dolmen lads were so solid in their game plan and shape it was really frustrating the fiacs lads who looked void of any answers on how to breakdown dolmen. Dolmen held strong til the end to get the result and fiacs will be very disappointed in themselves not creating any clear cut chances to get the result and finished 2-1 to dolmen celtic.

Best for Dolmen Celtic in a fine performance were Seamus Farrell, Flo and Adrian Pudlik.

Over 35s are out in action Saturday evening come on over and support the lads.

DOLMEN CELTIC 35S CLAIM A DRAW TO REMAIN UNBEATEN

*********Moone Celtic 2-2 Dolmen Celtic***********

Dolmen celtic over 35s travelled out to moone to take on moone celtic expecting a tough battle. Dolmen started on the front foot putting a lot of pressure on the moone defence, winning lots of corners and getting a few chances from them. Moone looked very dangerous on the counter attack and threatened the dolmen goal on a few occasions. Moone broke the deadlock when they capitalised on poor dolmen defending, moone crossed the ball into the area and scored a nice volley. Dolmen got one back from a James williamson corner found seamus farrells head and he guided the ball to the goal and Stephen Dooley was on hand to make sure it crossed the line. 5 mins before halftime moone went back in front when dolmen lost the ball high up the pitch and moone caught them on the counter.

Second half began and moone came out a lot stronger and were really testing the dolmen defence. It took 10 minutes before dolmen grew into the game and started to dominate in midfield creating chances though James williamson Paul clancy a nd Adrian pudlik. After 20 mins gone in the second half James williamson found an opening for Kevin coakley to slip through the moone defence and his deflected shot found the back of the net. The game got pretty open then with both sides creating opportunities to win the game but neither took their chances and the game finished all square at 2 all.

Best for Dolmen Celtic were Tommy Jordan, Paul Clancy and Kevin Coakley.

DOLMEN DOMINATE IN OVER 35S DIVISION 2

*********Carlow Concrete Tanks Division 2*********

**********Dolmen Celtic 5-1 Nurney Villa **********

Nurney villa hosted dolmen celtic in this carlow concrete tanks over 35s division 2 game and dolmen started the better of the two sides with Kevin coakley and john Robinson linking up well in the right side, for Kevin to put in a cross to find James Williamson to make it 1 nil. Nurney came back strong after they went a goal down and were a real threat with corners. Nurney could have made it level only for Anthony 'Ernie' Core to make a great save to keep his side in front. Dolmen had weathered the nurney storm and had chances through Adrian Pudlik and John Robinson but the best opportunity came when Williamson slid Kevin coakley through one on one, Kevin placed the ball to the right corner but the nurney keeper pulled off a fantastic save to keep at 1 nil dolmen at the half time break.

Dolmen came in the second half flying and after 4 mins Adrian Pudlik made it 2 nil with a well placed shot to the bottom corner from the edge of box. Moments later Dolmen made it 3 nil when the ball fell to James Williamson, nutmegged the defender and blasted a shot into the top corner. Nurney caught Dolmen on the counter attack twice with Ernie saving on both occasions with his feet. Stephen Dooley came off the bench and made an immediate impact on the right side. Dooley broke free off his defender had a chance to shoot but squared the ball across the area to coakley to make it 4 nil. Stephen once again got free on the right side this time crossing a ball deep on to the back post to find the head of Williamson to get his hat trick and to make it 5 nil. Ernie Core and Dolmen will be disappointed they didn't get the clean sheet but when a back pass took a horrible bobble onto the foot of Ernie forcing him to slice the ball onto the head of a nurney player who looped the ball over Ernies head.

Final score 5-1 to Dolmen Celtic and best for the lads were Michael Corr, Adrian Pudlik and James Williamson.

Our u14s bowed out the u14 cup today at the semi final stage to parkville united just missing out on a cup final. Unlucky lads. Best for Dolmen ionut moscalu, Dylan fanning and Muhammed taseen.

Dolmen celtic u13s finished their league campaign with a win vs parkville.

In the first half there was nothing to separate the two sides with most of the being end to end. Dolmen opened the scoring with little johnnie carthy getting on the end of a miley doran cross to the back post. This lead didn't last long though when parkville caught dolmen on the counter attack and scored with a great finish from the edge of the area.

Second half began and parkville were much the better side. Parkville had dolmen pinned into their own half for most of the second half and dolmen were relying catching parkville on the counter attack. 10 mins to go in the game and a well worked corner from jack lynch led to callum williamson getting on the end of a cross and making it 2-1 dolmen. The following 5 mins seen dolmen run away with it with johnnie setting up jack to score and jack returning the favour and setting up johnnie to make it 4-1.
