Today, North Inishowen hosted the County gun club team selection shoot to represent Donegal regional game council next year at the NARGC all ireland event. Conditions were blustery but 8 men achieved maximum scores. The team to come out on top was Lifford, with Buncrana and Carrigans both only 2 points behind.

North Inishowen Gun Club thanks everyone who helped to make todays shoot a success. The winner of the 50 bird open, with 25 s***t & 25 sporting combined was Declan McDermott. His prize of a gun service, parts & labour, being donated by Walter Blacklaw. In joint 2nd were John G McGonagle & William Hutchinson. The P J McCole memorial cup was won by William Hutchinson and the Conn Smyth memorial cup was won by Alan Bonner. All prizes presented by club chairman Brian O’Donnell.

The Donegal Co Qualifier held by North Inishowen gun club yesterday had 18 men trying for a place. The next one will be in 2 weeks hosted by Moyle gun club. The 50 bird open was won by Shay McCurdy with 50/50 followed by Joe O’Donnell and Andy Oakes both on 46/50. Joe had left so Andy took 2nd spot.
