Another outstanding turnout this evening for our 9 & Dine! ⛳️☀️

We had our biggest turnout of the season so far, with 33 players enjoying the fabulous sunshine and nine holes of golf, followed by some gorgeous food afterwards.

This week’s winners, on countback, were Lenny McKitterick & Eamon Wakely, with a fantastic 23 points! 🏆👏

Congratulations to you both, and a huge thank you to everyone who came along and helped make it another brilliant evening.

⏰ Next week, we’ll stick with the same tee times of 4:30–6:00pm.

After that, we’ll bring the start time back a little for a week or two as the evenings begin to draw in. Sadly, the 2026 season will eventually have to come to an end, but we’ll do everything we can to keep 9 & Dine going for as long as possible! ⛳️

Another major competition for our ladies this week. It was our Professional Chris's Prize. Mannan Castle Proshop

It was very close at the top this week and our handicap committee had their work cut out separating the winners, all on 37pts.

Jo Barry came out on top winning on countback. 2nd Prize was won by Madeleine Devine also on countback, while Bridie Fitzmaurice won 3rd prize on countback! Gross Prize went to Louise Hanratty.

Hard to believe it's a month since Lady Captain Angela Gartlan’s Captain’s Prize Day.

In lieu of gifts, Angela asked those playing to make a donation or give food vouchers for Carrickmacross Food Bank.

As a club, we are overwhelmed by the generosity shown by the Mannan Castle ladies and invited guests on Lady Captain Angela’s Prize Day, the event raised almost €1,500 for Carrickmacross Food Bank.

We are sure this donation will be put to good use by this non-profit organisation, which does amazing work in our community by giving hard-working families a helping hand when they need it most.

Friday the 21st August Mannan Castle Ladies hosted an Open 3 Lady Waltz.

The beautiful prizes were bought from a local shop Crock O' Gold, fantastic value (and they even let us borrow the beautiful stands to display the jewellery).

We did not come out on top, sadly it was not our day, a few bad bounces, but a ball stuck up tree by the18th green is a really unfair way to lose any match!

The title of 'runner up' is not the one we hoped for..... but we will be back!

Once again, team captains Shane Donohue & Louise Hanratty and the All Ireland Mixed Foursomes team would like to thank all the Mannan Castle members, friend and family who came out in force to support the team.... we truly have 'the best golf club in Ireland'. 😊😊

Sadly, it was the end of the road for our Flogas Ireland Mixed Foursomes Team, as we were beaten in the Ulster South Final in Clandeboye yesterday.

Team captains Louise Hanratty and Shane Donohue and the mixed team would like to thank Clandeboye Golf Club NI for their hospitality, all the Mannan Castle members who travelled to support the team. Mannan Castle members are simply the best!

Yesterday was not our day ..... we might be doing some fundraising for a arborist and suggesting that a certain tree be chopped down on the 18th hole!! (For those of you who weren't there ....Photos will follow!)
