💙💛 Everyone at Carrigaline United AFC was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of former Chelsea, England and Cork Celtic great Bobby Tambling at the age of 84.
Bobby will forever be remembered as one of football’s great goalscorers, netting 202 goals for Chelsea and playing a key role in Cork Celtic’s famous League of Ireland title-winning side. He also held a special place within our own club as a former Senior Team Manager and a great friend of Carrigaline United AFC.
Beyond his achievements on the pitch, Bobby was admired for his character, generosity and genuine passion for football. He left a lasting impression on so many people throughout Cork football and within our club community.
We extend our sincere condolences to Valerie, Garry, Glenn and all of Bobby’s family and friends during this difficult time.
May he rest in peace.
A football icon who will never be forgotten.

U14As completed their inaugural season in the premier division with 2 games in 3 days over the weekend.
First up was the champions elect - Mallow Town - on Friday evening and with 7 players missing (including the entire back line) due to a clash with championship hurling, our boys along with help from U13 Utd players put up a brilliant performance eventually going down 2-0.
William Busteed almost got us back in the game midway through the 2nd half with a fantastic shot from the edge of the area after great combination play built up from the back but the Mallow Town keeper pulled off a great diving save.
The character and personality of these lads shown through in their performance when they never gave up throughout 💪🏻💪🏻
Great team performances with Rorie Livingston, Ethan Wren, Jack O’Driscoll & Rian Kelleher all making massive contributions.
Then, on Sunday morning, Corinthians came to Ballea Park and again our boys put up a great fight despite the tired bodies!! We went 1 down against the run of play in the first half but kept pushing and finally getting the equaliser in the 2nd half scored by the irrepressible Niall O’Carroll. Both teams searched for the winner but the game finished in a draw. Again, a great team performance with big performances from William Busteed, Cillian Hurley, Ross McCarthy and Ilya Tukels in particular. Great to see Luke O’Gorman back on the pitch again as well after nearly 3 months out 💪🏻💪🏻
These 2 games brought the curtain down on this squad’s inaugural season in the Premier Division. We are all super proud of the way this group of players carried themselves throughout the season. We were very competitive in every game, mixed it with the best around and with a bit more luck and maybe more clinical finishing, we could easily have gotten more out of a number of games.
