MU20 COACHING TEAM ANNOUNCEMENT | 2027 🟢🔴
Mayo FC are delighted to announce the appointment of Mickey Feeney as our MU20 Head Coach for the 2027 League of Ireland season, alongside Jesper Frisch as Assistant Coach.
A highly experienced UEFA A Licence coach, Mickey brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the club, having worked with the Republic of Ireland MU19 international squad for many years.
Mickey also brings valuable international coaching experience, having spent numerous summers coaching in the United States, further developing his knowledge and expertise in working with young footballers.
He will be joined by Jesper Frisch as Assistant Coach, as the pair look to develop a competitive MU20 squad while strengthening the pathway from academy football into our senior men's team.
Speaking about his appointment, Mickey said:
“I'm delighted to be joining Mayo FC as MU20 Head Coach, and I would like to thank the club for giving me this opportunity.
One of the main reasons I was attracted to this role is that the club's ambitions align closely with my own — to create a clear pathway into senior football in Ireland for talented, ambitious young players from Mayo and the surrounding areas.
That pathway is now here in Mayo, and it's up to the players to embrace the opportunity, take on the challenge and make the most of it.”
Mickey's appointment marks another positive step in the continued development of our academy and our commitment to providing opportunities for young footballers to progress into senior football.
We wish Mickey, Jesper and the entire MU20 squad every success for the 2027 season! 👏⚽
