Well what a stunning weather window presented itself to us this weekend. A long planned Bridge The Gap for our Level 2 ladies was quickly assembled (originally in the diary for next Sunday and with the weather moving in this week we seized the day)

12 ladies taking to the waters in Achill. 4 of these ladies only joined the Club in August having very recently passed their L2. This was their first time introduction to the sea so the conditions had to be just right.

Imagine on your first ever sea session you get to go into sea caves, under sea arches, practice towing and being towed, working on forward paddle, bracing, sweep strokes, wet exits and heel hook re-entries and to top it all a beach launch and beach landing. What stars!

Thank you so much to Valli Schafer for an absolutely wonderful day on the water. Everyone learned so much and your easy going style set the pace for a day to remember.

Also thanks to
And the Bridge The Gap initiative for providing the funding in order that the Club can run these valuable events.

Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Darren and their daughter, Samantha, at this very sad and difficult time.

May Catrina rest in eternal peace. 🕊️
