Happy new year to all.

Great to be helping out Kildare Senior Footballer Neil Flynn @nflynn15 with his off-season S&C programme here in the Performance Clinic, Celbridge. In the video we are testing his eccentric hamstring strength using the NordBord by @vald_performance in our rehab gym in the clinic.
.
The NordBord is a fantastic piece of kit which can be used for hamstring injury risk factor screening and rehabilitation - which we are lucky to have in the clinic.
.
It is supported by numerous research articles showing decreased eccentric strength and between limb differences in strength as measured by the NordBord is associated with hamstring injury in professional rugby(Bourne et al 2015), soccer (Timmins et al 2015) and AFL (Opar et al 2015).
.
It measures absolute hamstring strength and between limb differences in hamstring strength. We aim for x4 times Bodyweight and a difference between legs of less than 10% to reduce the risk of hamstring injury.
.
Neil is currently putting out over x5 times his bodyweight after the last few weeks of training 💪💪 with an 8% difference between his two legs, which puts him in a good place to reduce his risk of hamstring injury.
.
What a baller and a great bloke😍 we are currently performing a different range of hamstring injury prevention strengthening exercises as part of his S&C programme, to help with hamstring injury prevention and robustness.
