Representing Clara AC this morning at the Mountmellick Road Race was Karen Kilduff and Rebecca Buckley with their finishers medals! 🥇

A long awaited comeback for the Mountmellick Roadrunners to host this race since 2019 and it was brilliant!
A nice flat route through the town on good roads for anyone considering it next time 😊

Representing Clara AC at St. Manchan's Ladies Football 5km/10km at Tubber GAA today was Sean Purcell, Niall Purcell, Ollie Galvin and Lionel Rabbitte with fantastic results in tow!

Sean was 1st senior male in the 5km race🥇
Niall was 2nd senior male in the km race 🥈
Ollie was 1st male in the 10km🥇

The Mountmellick 5k Road Race is taking place on the 13th September 2026, their first road race since before Covid. A flat and fast course with 2 trophies up for grabs amongst other prizes!

🏆 TWO PERPETUAL CUPS. TWO PEOPLE REMEMBERED. ONE VERY SPECIAL RACE. 🏆

This year’s Mountmellick 5K Road Race is about much more than crossing the finish line.

We are incredibly proud to have two very special Perpetual Cups presented on race day, each carrying a name with a meaningful connection to athletics and the Mountmellick community.

💛 The Noel Coss Senior Perpetual Cup will be presented to our overall male race winner.

Noel is remembered through a cup that carries his name and his connection with Mountmellick Athletic Club.

The original cup describes Noel as “a great sports man and true friend of athletics” — a fitting legacy to continue through the Mountmellick 5K.

🩷 The Michelle Oxley Perpetual Cup will be presented to our overall female winner, celebrating Michelle's memory and her connection with Mountmellick Athletic Club.

Having Michelle remembered through an award presented to the leading woman in our race makes this cup particularly special.

These aren't simply trophies for first place.

Every year, new names will be added, but the names of Noel Coss and Michelle Oxley will remain at the heart of them.

For us, that's what a Perpetual Cup should be about — recognising sporting achievement today while ensuring that the people who contributed to athletics in our community are remembered for generations to come.

We are absolutely delighted and honoured to have both cups as part of the Mountmellick Road Race 2026. 💙💛

A fantastic morning in Birr for the 8th and final round of the Healthy Offaly 5km road series 🏰

A testing route with plenty of hills but what an amazing home stretch 🏃🪽 💨

A massive thank you to Birr AC for hosting and organising the event and for the delicious spread of goodies afterwards!! 🥮🧁🍩🍊

Congratulations to our Clara AC members who took part today, not to mention our men's team who finished in 2nd place!
