🐺 MATCH REPORT 🐺
Today we had a local Derby in the first round in the Mick Mooney Cup against first division leaders Evcore. First 10 minutes both teams were just feeling each other out when a misplaced pass in midfield let evcore clean through and a well placed shot beat an onrushing Dunlea in goal. In fairness the lads heads didn’t drop and we started playing well and pushing forward. Ten minutes later we got our reward when Alan O Regan beat the full back and smashed a low angled shot to the far post , few minutes later we got a second with Scott Mccarthy pass setting up Shane Keegan who smashed it home . We had few half chances we we were unlucky not to take but finished the half deservedly ahead. Second half started and evcore pushed hard from the start and equalised within 7 minutes, a tired midfield was leaving space which evcore were taking advantage of and a well made pass had evcore through and despite a valent effort from the back line to recover and clear a shot off the line evcore didn’t need a second invitation and put rebound in by the near post.
We made some changes and we got back into the game and got a great goal to go back ahead . Shaun Teegan played Shane Keegan through down the wing and after a great run played a peach of a pass into the middle which Dylan Long powered into the net. The lads dug deep for last 20 minutes and defended well keeping evcore to some long distance shooting.
We would like to wish Evcore the best for the rest of the season. We would also like to thank Damien Morey for a free flowing game.
We also want to wish ex ash player Dave o Neill a speedy recovery after suffering an injury in today’s game.
We move back to the league next week where we play Healy o Connor solicitors at home on Sunday 11.30

‼️MATCH REPORT‼️
Our first league game of 2025 we played Arc rovers out in Ballincollig regional park we got off to a good start with both teams playing some good football, we opened the scoring in the 15th minute with Scott McCarthy’s corner reaching David O’Sullivan at the back post who volleyed it into the back of the net. We got to half time leading 1-0 wanting more we pushed for another but couldn’t convert. ARC were gifted a penalty which brought the game to 1-1. Another good team performance from the lads who were very unlucky again with our last 3 games finishing in a 1-1 draw.
We move to next week where we play Evcore in the first round of the Mick Mooney Sunday at 4.30 🤷♂️

‼️MATCH REPORT‼️
Saturday morning we played Swift in the league, We knew we had to to show up with a big performance. The weather again a huge factor in this game. We controlled the game from the start and got our goal in the 15th minute through Alan o Regan who took the ball in his own half and with great determination ran through the swift defence before rounding the keeper. 1-0 half time.
The game seemed a bit to much for todays referee who seemed to have lost the game early in the second half.
Swift got there goal through a very controversial penalty in the 60th minute.👀
Both teams fighting for a winner it was end to end but neither could convert and share the points on the day.
SWIFT 1-1 ASH
Our next fixture we play Cork Hospitals at home @7.45 Friday
