The challenge of work-life balance is without question, one of the most significant struggles faced by most.
It can be incredibly difficult to feel a sense of balance when we are juggling careers, personal responsibilities, family time, self-care, recreational activities, social time and more.
It requires significant focus on priorities, and a ruthless elimination of many time-sucking activities. By being very focused and purposeful about where snd who you spend your time and energy on, you will achieve balance.
Successful, fulfilled people know exactly what they want to achieve. They know what’s important to them and set crystal clear targets to aim for in their careers and lives.
Working to balance your career and personal life leads to improved professional and personal relationships. Spending all your time and attention on your work leads to less time with those you love, your family, and your friends. When you create a better balance in life, you can dedicate more quality time to improving your personal relationships. A ripple effect then happens. You feel more satisfaction in your personal life, leading to an increased sense of happiness and fulfillment. This leads to a better quality of life, increasing your joy in all areas, including your career.

It's not what you achieve, it's what you overcome that defines your career.
Everyone should experience defeat at least once during their career. You learn a lot from it. Failure doesn’t mean you are a failure it just means you haven’t succeeded yet.
Remember, problems are not stop signs, they’re guidelines.
So if something doesn't go to plan, don't just abandon the goal, sit down amd write what worked well and what didn't work so well, learn from it, don't give up. These things are meant to test you.

I met someone recently who spoke honestly about their time working in a job for 9 years, under appreciated and under valued.
They got the opportunity to take redundancy which at the time was a huge blow, but this person had a side hustle, so took the opportunity to grow that side hustle to make it into a huge success.
.
I asked them looking back on it now what would you change "I would do it sooner, why I stayed there so long I don't know"
Always have a card to play, be it upskilling or a side hustle. Be ready for the unknown and be prepared to take that leap of faith.

It's OK to admit defeat.
I meet so many people who are not happy in their role and the one thing holding them back is admitting defeat, the role no longer serves them.
It's OK to be like this, we outgrow a lot of things in our life friends, relationships and even jobs.
Admitting defeat is not failure, its growth and as we know growth doesn't happen in our comfort zone.
.
Changing careers seems daunting however once you go through the process it's revitalising, it changes your mindset and your ability to adapt to change.

How you start your day has huge impact on how the rest of the day will go and your success.
.
Here are some suggestions.
1. Start the day with at least 500ml of water before any coffee/tea
2. Practice gratitude.....try it...it is hugely beneficial.
3. Don't scroll through social media in the first hour of waking instead practice meditation, go for a walk, gym, mindful eating.
Yes we are all busy however try these for a month and notice the benefits to mind, body and your attitude.

I write this as my daughter is in secondary school and I see how her personality has evolved since primary school.
When we are in school, particularly once we hit our teens and onwards we tend to care the most about what people think of us. But, even as adults, many of us and we have a tendency to consider what others may think when making decisions in life, including what clothes to wear, vehicle to drive, Job to take etc
All of us waste precious life doing things we don’t like, to prove ourselves to people in the fear of being judged and then as a result we get things we don’t want.
Undoubtedly a giant stumbling block to following your own path is the pressure of not living up to expectations.
We each have our own path and we each have rough spots and easy spots. But keep following your path….don’t sit on the side giving up.
If you follow your own path you will have passion and a sense of meaning to sustain you, which will make you much more resilient when you encounter setbacks and roadblocks.
The question is whether you’re going to use your life to follow your own path or to follow one laid out for you by someone else.

Haven't been posting much lately......crazy busy and I let social media slide.....good to see I didn't lose to many followers...thank you 💗.
I've been really tired the last few weeks, work and home demands, so I took a step back and prioritised tasks, i let some of my personal goals slide a little as work took priority to get some project deadlines complete but thanks to my coach he helped me gain perspective on my personal goals and helped me take a break without having a complete meltdown.
We are all human, we all need time to reset and we all need someone to be accountable to, to ensure we don't burn out and lose focus.
So as we lead into a long long weekend (yay), rest, recharge but don't quit on your goals.
