Bweeng Celtic Underage Soccer Club

A very special night for Bweeng Celtic Underage Soccer Club as a new team just formed 3 weeks back played their first game tonight in a friendly against Grenagh. So far we have established a group of 20 players aged u6 and u7.

This is just the start and over the summer months its hoped now thay we can firmly establish these teams and enter leagues next season.

Thanks to all the players and parents tonight. The lads were absolutely outstanding in their first game.

Our under 13s travelled to Kilcully tonight to take on a strong St Marys side knowing that a draw or win would bring them to their final game in with a shout of winning the league. Having already secured promotion the Bweeng side tonight lined our riddled with injuries and made several positional changes to accommodate this. Despite the challenges a very entertaining 1st half was played out and saw the Bweeng side lead 2 nil at half. Those injuries unfortunately however played their part as further changes and forcing players to play out of position took its toll and Marys forced their way back into game with 2 goals to finish the tie even.

This now means Bweeng remain 3 pts ahead in 1st place. If Park win their 2 games in hand they will go 3 pts ahead and with the teams to meet again it looks like it could come down to that game.

An absolutely outstanding performance tonight for our under 13 team. Preparations for tonight's game was challenging to say the least with a number of players unavailable but to a man every player who put on the jersey tonight can be super proud of their performance. Going behind early on it looked as if it was going to be one of those nights but thanks to a quick equaliser the teams turned at half time level. A strong 2nd half with some precision finishing saw us win out 4:1 in the end. Thanks to all the supporters, to the ref and also to our visitors St Mary's.

With 3 games to go our last home game is next Sunday at 2pm.

Bweeng host top of the table Bandon, tomorrow at 2pm in Bweeng. Weather looks good so why not take the opportunity to come out and support the mighty Bweeng u16s.

And so a new chapter begins. Delighted to see such a fantastic attendance tonight with 16 kids turning up for the formation of a new team catering for 6 and 7's.

We definitely saw some amazing and enthusiastic players and a great team in the making. We will continue for a few weeks before we play a friendly against another club.

New teams potentially starting at Bweeng Celtic. Training session for ages under 6 and under 7 commences on Wed April 22nd at 6pm in Bweeng National School Astro.

New players very welcome where the focus will be on fun, team building and a non competitive environment.

Future friendly games will also be arranged once team is established.
