Last Saturday I had the honour and pleasure of being the keynote speaker at the Coaching Network Day in MTU.
Talking about the importance of S&C in order to optimize the athlete's performance as well as youth development were 2 primary aspects I focused on.
We then headed into the High Performance gym to go over some key movements.
It was a fantastic day with lots of learning and I'm happy that I got the chance to meet all of the other coaches.
Massive thank you to all who showed up and for for organising this important day for all of us.

Congratulations to and the rest of his team for getting a Bronze medal over the weekend at the All Ireland Coastal Rowing Championships as a Junior.
We've been working together over the past few months to get him stronger in the boat and it's paying off.
If you're not doing structured strength and power training as part of your overall training then you're leaving a lot performance on the table as an athlete.

A big round of applause for for an outstanding performance at the Olympic Games, which was her first, and placing 16th overall!!
Big shout out to for the great throws coaching, to her family, everyone who helps her at , her friends and everyone else who supports her in this journey.
I'm beyond proud and delighted to be part of this fantastic team and to be able bring what I can in terms of S&C.

From the 4th of June (Tuesday), the Youth Strength & Conditioning Class keeps on rocking, making sure kids get the chance to keep building their fitness and physical skills.
There are only 6 spaces left currently - 3 for the 4-5 pm class and 3 for the 5-6pm.
Classes will be on Mondays from the week after the Bank Holiday.
At the foundation of training youth is the philosophy that ALL children should be provided the opportunity to develop their physical, mental, and social skills and our class aims to achieve just that.
With the increasing interest of young people going to the gym, itâs best that they start this in a coached environment where theyâll learn proper lifting technique and develop strength, speed, power, balance, coordination and flexibility.
The benefits of strength and conditioning training starting at younger ages can eventually have long-term implications for an individualâs healthy lifestyle and future sports participation.

How do you juggle being a full time teacher, an IG star and also a dedicated boxer who trains multiple times a week?
Well if you've kept up with the progress of you'd know it's all about time management and staying consistent.
Last week, this legend has won his boxing match and dominated it.
He shows up everyday and puts in the work.
6am he's in the gym.
I'm glad I can be an influential player in his development and looking forward to more medals going for this man.
Before he reached out his training in the gym was a bit all over the place.
Now there's more structure and moving in the right direction.
All Ireland in January.
We keep the head down and keep working đȘ

It's the middle of May...
The year is flying by at a scary rate.
With a snap of a finger you'll be looking at the reports for Q2 then Q3 and just like that summer is over.
As a proffessional it's very easy to let things fly by you and just use the excuse "I'm caught up with work" or "I'm busy".
I hear this all the time from clients prior to joining BTF.
Family is prioritized.
Work is prioritized.
But you...?
Nah.
You've got no time for that you say.
You're "content" with hitting the gym once or twice a week.
Deep down you suffer silently though...
With the thought of not being able to drive your phyiscal performance further.
I was like that last year so I know the feeling.
It wasn't until I bit the bullet and took action on putting myself as priority on my quarterly review.
So ask yourself this...
If now is not the best time, then when is it? How long before you stop suffering in silence?
I'll tell you this.
There is never a best time.
You know this as well because it's the exact same thinking you're employing within your career or business.
When something needs to get done...
You fire at it right away.
