Some of my clients like to blame their "genes" for being overweight. Its usually bad eating habits and lack of exercise that are at fault. The sun is shining so get out there and get moving!
Just a piece of advice about "diet" drinks. The sweeteners in them send a signal to your brain that food is coming so you end up craving more food. You end up consuming more calories than needed.
