Friday Feeding Fact

Research has shown that high sugar/starch diets can affect equine behaviour. Therefore it makes sense to control the amount of WSC (sugar/fructan/starch) in the diet of ‘fizzy’ horses. It is easy to focus on the bucket feed and overlook the contribution of WSC from forage, especially grass. Spring grass can have a WSC content as high as 20% (DM). Horses can consume 1-2kg of grass (DM) per hour, which could supply as much as 200-400g of WSC. TopSpec Feed Balancers and Multi-Supplements are exceptionally low in WSC.

Friday Feeding Fact

What a long cold winter! As temperatures drop below freezing it is vital to ensure horses continue to have free access to water both in the stable and in the field. Research studies indicate that restricted access to water can increase the risks of colic and gastric ulcers. In addition to keeping water sources unfrozen, make sure very cold water isn’t deterring your horse from drinking. Regularly offering your stabled horse warm water can /encourage water intake during a cold spell. Do not offer warm water outside unless you can do so regularly, several times a day.

Well that's a great testament to this product that I know does more than its states in the label!

After leaving a bottle of Equissential at a tack shop in Northamptonshire last week, I received this response from the owner. It also destroys 98% of ammonia on impact.
