Just goes to show itโ€™s no quick fix. If youโ€™re signing up for PT for a 4 week miracle then youโ€™re signing up for all the wrong reasons. It takes time a patience to get results.

Think of it as a lifestyle change, put in the work, and the results will come โœŒ๐Ÿพ

We see 6, 8, 12 week transformations all the time but what is more impressive is someone who can sustain these results & continue to improve.

"I've learned so much, about different exercises, how to do a squat and not look like bambi ๐Ÿ˜Š , importance of form, food, consistency, how to talk to your glutes (Fintan the glute whisperer taught me that one), and so much more.. to be honest from the first session I got completely hooked and maybe a bit obsessed. I love being pushed further and feel, thanks to yourself and all of the team, that I have achieved something I wouldn't have managed on my own.

I still know there is more to learn - like whats the big deal with wearing black and navy together.. where Eoin gets his energy from (I suspect its his beard)...and how Fintan always manages to come up with new ways to make your whole body scream.. he should defo patent that landmine side lunge exercise!

You've built something brilliant boy, lads are great and always love coming to the gym.. Jesus thats a long winded way to say I am delighted with results and happier than I was when I started.. can't wait for next 12 months... thanks for everything! Only balls now is I have to buy all new clothes again!" .

*Client Understanding*

Being able to understand your clients and put yourself in their shoes is one of the most important traits in a personal trainer. Every client is different, and a "one size fits all" approach should never be used.

For the past 3 years, I've been training clients and giving them advice when it comes to nutrition, but I have never been the client myself. I had never done PT or followed a nutrition plan before. So earlier this year, I decided to put the shoe on the other foot, and follow a nutrition plan with EM Fitness & Nutrition with the goal of doing a photo shoot at the end.

For 17 weeks I followed a plan, checking in every 3 weeks to keep me accountable. I found it easy at the start, mostly because it was something new and exciting, but as the weeks went on there was times when I did struggle. This was something I've seen with many PT clients over the years and I could finally understand why as I was now in their position. But having a good coach in Eric, he was able to talk to me and motivate me to keep going and see it out, and the end result was me achieving my best shape to date.

That experience changed my outlook on training people. Every client has something that will really motivate them and make them work. As a trainer, it's important to understand your client and realise what that is. Whether it be an end goal, a goal for the session, constantly talking to them, or staying quiet for the session and just letting them focus, everyone has something that works for them. Again, showing how important the psychological aspect of personal training is.

For clients, ask yourself, is your trainer/coach good enough for you? Do they give you their full attention for the time you're with them? Do they know how to get the best from you that will help you achieve your goals?

Alright fam โœŒ๐Ÿพ

Haven't really been using this over the last year but going to get a lot more active on this going forward.

As you can see by the post below, I will now be working in EM Fitness & Nutrition.

I have known Eric for a number of years, since I first started college back in 2012 in CIT and he is one of the reasons I took such an interest in the health and fitness.
I have worked with Eric a number of times in the passed, most recently he prepped me for a photo shoot back in May, and I have to say he is a genius.
As always, I would not promote or support something I do not agree with or believe in, but I cannot recommend Eric and the team here more. I can't wait to get started working with such a great team of trainers.
