Saju Jirugi is a fundamental, four-directional punching exercise in International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF) style, designed for beginners (white belts/10th kup) to learn basic stances, blocking, punching, and turning.

Meaning: Saju translates to "four directions" and Jirugi translates to "punch," therefore it is known as the Four Directional Punch.
Purpose: It acts as a precursor to formal patterns (Tuls) teaching students how to move in different directions while maintaining proper, stable stances (specifically, walking stances).
Techniques Involved:
Walking Stance (Gunnun Sogi): The primary stance used throughout the exercise.
Low Outer Forearm Block (Najunde Makgi): Used to defend.
Middle Punch (Kaunde Jirugi): Used to attack
Structure: Part 1 - It consists of 7 movements, usually performed starting with the right foot and right hand moving anti- clockwise to create a "plus sign" or cross shape on the floor. Part 2 begins with the left foot and left hand and moves in a clockwise direction
