🤷‍♀️Many people assume aging automatically means losing strength, stamina, and physical ability — but long-term research tells a different story.

💪People who stay physically active maintain significantly higher levels of fitness and function throughout life compared to inactive individuals.

💪Exercise didn’t stop aging, but it dramatically slowed the rate of decline.

💪Why I love💕 adding this exercise to my Pilates lesson plan’s on a regular basis .

✔️Muscle recruitment here is highly synergistic—these muscles rarely work alone. Instead:

✔️The spine muscles stabilise, the lats and shoulders generate movement.

✔️The glutes provide power from the hips.

✔️Erector spinae: keeps the spine upright and stable.

✔️Latissimus dorsi: drives pulling movements.

✔️Trapezius & shoulder stabilizers: control and stabilize the shoulder blades.

✔️Neck extensors: support head posture.

✔️Glutes: power hip extension
Overall: spine stabilizes, lats/shoulders move, glutes generate force.

Why your calf is called your second ❤️ heart.
Your calf muscle is vital for circulation and heart health❤️

🫀Blood flowing down your body (from heart to legs) is helped by gravity,but getting blood back up from your legs to your heart is harder—gravity works against it.

💪 How your calf helps
When you walk, run, or even stand on your toes:
Your calf muscles contract and squeeze the deep veins in your legs
This pushes blood upward toward your heart
One-way valves in your veins stop the blood from falling back down
This mechanism is called the calf muscle pump.

❤️ Why “second heart”?
It actively pumps blood, similar to how your heart does.
It significantly improves circulation, especially from the lower body
Without it, blood could pool in your legs, leading to swelling or conditions like varicose veins.

👉The Pilates Roll Up is a core-focused exercise that works multiple muscle groups through controlled spinal articulation.

🔹 Primary Muscles Involved
Re**us Abdominis – Main muscle responsible for spinal flexion (the “six-pack” muscle).
Transverse Abdominis – Deep core stabilizer that supports and controls the movement.
Internal and External Obliques – Assist with trunk flexion and stabilization.

🔹 Secondary (Supporting) Muscles
Hip Flexors (Iliopsoas) – Help lift the torso, especially during the upward phase.
Quadriceps – Stabilize the legs when they are extended on the mat.
Erector Spinae – Control the descent back down to the mat.
Shoulder Flexors (Anterior Deltoids) – Help raise the arms overhead and forward.
Latissimus Dorsi – Assist in shoulder stability and controlled movement.
