My name is Martina Camilleri Bondin, and I joined CYBC in 2023 at the age of 13, shortly after moving from my home country, Malta. I began dancing when I was four years old, training at Olivia Dow Russian Ballet School and Johane Casabene Dance Conservatoire in Malta. When I moved to Cork, I continued my training with Cork School of Dance, and not long after, I was offered the opportunity to audition for CYBC.

Being part of CYBC has helped me refine my technique, improve my ability to pick up choreography, and grow as a dancer. I’ve been given incredible opportunities, including performing in Swan Lake in 2023 and 2025 with professionals at the Cork Opera House, as well as competing in the ISTD Imperial Classical Ballet Awards. Each of these experiences has been an important stepping stone as I work toward my goal of continuing dance throughout my life, especially in classical ballet. I’m truly grateful to receive such high‑quality, intensive training by professional teachers both at the Cork School of Dance and CYBC.

I’m also very thankful to be part of our upcoming show, Collage, on the 28th of March. It’s a privilege to perform alongside so many talented choreographers and dancers. I know I will cherish this experience, as it is an amazing opportunity for all of us.

I’m Kelsey, I’m 18 years old and this is my fourth year involved in the company. I love being a part of CYBC because it allows me to meet so many new people from all over the country, learn from new teachers, and grow alongside my new friends. It’s a great stepping stone towards what i want to achieve in the future. I hope to live my life on stage, and with the training I’ve gotten from Cork School Of Dance, Cork Youth Ballet Company, and the training I will get in Performers College Essex over the next 3 years, I hope that will become a reality!

Our dancers are busy in rehearsal for COLLAGE next week. Here are some words from Cliona Kenny, one of our seniors dancers.

Cork Youth Ballet Company has been a part of my life for the last four years. For me, it’s more than just a dance company, it’s a community and space to grow. I feel immense gratitude for the incredible performance opportunities and the chance to learn from dedicated choreographers. The latest production ‘Collage’ is a testament to hard work and collaboration between the dancers and the creative team. The company has taught me so much about myself and given me life long friendships.
As I embark on the next stage of my performing arts journey, in Bird College in September, I bring the skills, discipline and artistic creativity fostered by CYBC with me. I am very grateful to Miss Sinead Murphy and everyone at CYBC who have encouraged me to fullfill my dreams and given me the support to pursue my passion. I hope to one day be leading lady on a West End production and continue to experience the joy and fulfilment that performing on stage gives me. I’ll cherish my time with CYBC forever.

Happy Mother’s Day to the Mums, Grannies and Mother figures of all our dancers. Thank you for the support and encouragement you give your children so they can fulfill their dancing dreams. Your commitment is huge, we wouldn’t have CYBC if it wasn’t for your support. Thank you.

Thrilled these dancers from Irish National Youth Ballet are joining us for COLLAGE on 28th March at Dance Cork Firkin Crane. They will perform pieces from Zoe Ashe Browne’s Eclipse as well as solo pieces. This is a great opportunity for Cork audiences to see these talented young dancers from various parts of Ireland alongside our own talented and dedicated dancers. Collaboration and teamwork creates great opportunities for the next generation of dancers.
