π’βͺοΈπ΅π°οΈπ°οΈπ°οΈπ’βͺοΈπ΅
The club is delighted to see former chairman, Sevens chair, coach, player, allickado and all-round legend of the club Philip Stokes being recognised for his work as a master Horologist.
Philip, who is a founder member of the club and was recognised by the IRFU for his commitment to rugby last year, will feature in an RTE series starting this evening (Monday) called Masters: Keepers of Tradition (20.30 - RTE1) along with his son Robin (another KRFC player) and mother Sally.
The episode will focus on the work Philip and his family business undertook to restore Corkβs famous Shandon Bells over 8 months. Itβs bound to be a fascinating and entertaining watch so tune in!

KCS WIN BOWEN CUP
π’βͺοΈπ΅ππππ’βͺοΈπ΅
Congrats to our local school, Kinsale Community School, who won the U18 Bowen Cup B tournament this week, overcoming St Declanβs of Waterford 41-28 at Virgin Media Park.
It was a back and forward game but once Kinsale got control in the 2nd half Captian Josh Lehane controlled the game with some great tactical kicking.
The pack put in a big performance with strong carries from Ivor O Riordan, Roman Mohohamend and Cathal Hawkins.
Kinsale CS have now defended the Bowen Sheild winning it last year. It shows a great base and promise for the U19 Competitions this year.
A special mention to John Quinn and Patrick Regan 6th years who played their last match of Rugby with Kinsale CS.
With a team filled with local, KRFC talent, weβre delighted for Team Coach Eddie Farren and his coaches, as well as the entire squad, who get to share this success

Heartbreak for our 2nds tonight as they narrowly lost out by just 2 points in the Kelly Cup Final after a massive battle from start to finish.
Sundays Well opened the scoring early to take a 7-0 lead, but Kinsale responded brilliantly through Conor Fitz who crossed the line to level things up at 7-7. The game continued at a frantic pace with both sides throwing everything into every tackle, carry and ruck.
Sundays Well regained the lead with another try to make it 14-7, but once again Kinsale answered back. Cillian Fitz finished off another strong attacking move to bring the sides level at 14-14 going into half time after an entertaining and physical first half.
The second half was every bit as tight, with territory and possession changing constantly. Two penalties from Sundays Well pushed them ahead 20-14 as the clock ticked down, but this Kinsale side showed the fight and character that has defined their season.
With pressure mounting late on, Cathal OβLeary crashed over for a crucial try to bring Kinsale back into the game. Gavin McCarthy then stepped up under huge pressure and landed an excellent conversion to edge Kinsale ahead 21-20 and set up a dramatic finish.
Unfortunately, with just 5 minutes remaining, Sundays Well were awarded a penalty and made no mistake from the tee to retake the lead. Despite a huge final effort from Kinsale, there was to be no late winner as Sundays Well held on to claim the Kelly Cup.
Special mention to βplayer of the matchβ Conor Fitzpatrick on a fantastic game
A hugely disappointing result for the lads after such a massive effort, but enormous credit must go to this group and management team for the season theyβve put together. Week after week this squad showed commitment, resilience and pride in the jersey, and while itβs tough to finish without silverware, they can hold their heads high after a brilliant year representing the club.
Well done to on the victory, and thanks to everyone who supported the team throughout the season.
