What a fantastic day of basketball at this year’s U10 Andrew Drumm Tournament! A massive well done to all of our amazing future stars who gave it their all on the court Saturday 💪🏀

So much skill, teamwork, energy and smiles on display all day long - the future of girls basketball is looking very bright 🤩👏

Last Friday, we were delighted to recognise the outstanding players, volunteers, and clubs who made a huge impact throughout the season. Congratulations to all of our award winners! 👏🏀

MVP Awards:
U15 - Emily
A passionate all-round player and natural leader who continues to inspire both teammates and younger players in Bantry🤩

U16B1 - Niamh
A great team player who gives 100% effort in every training session and game💪

U16B2 - Anina-May
A dedicated and determined player who helped lead her team to championship success this season⭐️

U16A - Sarah
A standout player whose work ethic earned her Ireland U16 selection and the CLBB U16A MVP award👏

U17 - Saorlaith
A hard working player who captained Mallow to League, Championship, and Top 4 success while also earning Championship Final MVP honours🏆

U18B - Chiara 
Competing two years above her age group all season, Chiara consistently excelled and a standout performer throughout the season💪

A fantastic player with an excellent attitude, commitment, and huge potential for the future🤩

A key player who led offensively while bringing relentless energy and determination on defence💫

A dominant player whose speed, intensity, and defensive pressure makes her a phenomenal teammate⚡️

Premier - Amy Corkery
Amy’s passion for the game helped deliver a historic BIDL title for Fr Mathews, capped by a 30-point MVP final performance🔥

Thomas Rawley Personality of the Year - Clodagh O’Driscoll
Whether playing or coaching for Ballincollig BC, refereeing, table officiating, or helping run CLBB competitions, Clodagh is always giving back. As CLBB Secretary, she works tirelessly behind the scenes to keep everything running smoothly. Even in her spare time she’s watching basketball! She is an invaluable presence in Cork basketball⭐️

Club of the Year - Fr Mathews Basketball Club 
A hugely deserved award after a fantastic season. From success across multiple age groups to supporting Cork teams and growing opportunities for female players, Fr Mathews continues to make a great contribution to basketball in Cork👏

⭐️ CLBB Hall of Fame Inductee 2025/26 - Timmy Murphy ⭐️

CLBB are honoured to welcome Timmy Murphy into the Cork Ladies Basketball Board Hall of Fame in recognition of his extraordinary contribution to basketball in Cork over the past five decades 👏

A founding member of Glanmire Basketball Club in 1984, Timmy has dedicated countless hours to developing players, teams, and the game itself 🤩

From coaching and administration to mentoring generations of young athletes, his impact on Cork basketball has been immense 💪

Timmy’s involvement in the sport stretches far beyond Glanmire. A former Cork County Board Chairman in the 2000s, and Basketball Ireland President from 2009–2011, he has continuously worked to grow and strengthen basketball at every level 🏀

He also proudly represented Glanmire as a player, winning Cork County Board Division 4 Player of the Year in 1986 😉⭐️

Over the years, Timmy coached numerous successful teams, including Glanmire’s first national title-winning U19B side in 1999, while also helping shape the pathway that would later see Glanmire become one of Ireland’s leading clubs 🔵⚪️🏆

Many international players have come through the ranks under his guidance, and he remains as passionate and involved today as he was back in 1984 - still spending evenings in Upper Glanmire Community Hall coaching, mentoring, and supporting the next generation 💫

Known throughout the basketball community for his dedication, warmth, and trademark suit and pink shirt on game days, Timmy has had a positive impact on countless players and families over the years. As many say, he truly is the “Lord Mayor of Cork Basketball” 🌟

On behalf of everyone in CLBB, we sincerely thank Timmy for his lifelong dedication to the game and congratulate him on this hugely deserved honour 👏🎉

CLBB are delighted to present Fr. Mathew’s Ger Gibbons with our Special Recognition Award following an incredible season of success and dedication to the game 🏆

Success in basketball is often measured by trophies and titles, but Ger’s impact goes far beyond the final buzzer 🏀

Week after week, he brought commitment, preparation, and belief to every training session, guiding and developing a squad of 20 players with outstanding leadership and professionalism 👏

Under Ger’s guidance, his team achieved an extraordinary clean sweep of honours this season:
