Most people know themselves through what they do.
Not through what drives them.

But underneath every decision you’ve ever made, every relationship you’ve stayed in, every job you’ve left, every moment that felt quietly wrong, there was a value being honoured or violated.

Your values aren’t preferences.
They’re not personality traits.
They’re the operating system running silently in the background of your mind.

And most of us are living by values we never consciously chose.

The moment you name them, something shifts. You stop being confused by yourself and start making decisions that actually fit.

As the year comes to a close, I want to take a moment to say thank you.

Thank you to everyone who has engaged with my content, shared their thoughts, and trusted me to work with them this year.

I’ve worked with so many people over the past year who felt stuck. Held back by a lack of direction, confidence, or a clear strategy. People who knew they wanted more but couldn’t quite see how to get there. And what still amazes me is how often the shift wasn’t about doing more, but about seeing things differently.

It genuinely brings me so much joy to watch what happens when one powerful coaching question changes someone’s perspective. When a limiting belief loosens its grip. When “I can’t” starts to feel less true. That moment where clarity appears and momentum follows. That’s where real change begins.

As you start thinking about 2026, setting new goals, imagining a new job, a new role, a new relationship, or a different way of living, pay attention to the language you’re using with yourself.

Notice how often “I can’t” shows up.
And gently challenge it.

Because more often than not, it’s not a lack of ability holding us back. It’s the story we’ve been telling ourselves for too long. We underestimate the power we have to change our lives when we shift our perspective and allow ourselves to believe something different is possible.

Here’s to setting goals from a place of belief, not limitation. Here’s to more clarity, confidence, and courage in 2026.

And thank you again for being part of my journey this year.

Today I officially became one of only 116 Associate Certified Coaches with the International Coaching Federation in Ireland.

This has been a goal since I first received my coaching qualification. After two years of learning, hundreds of hours spent coaching, and months of preparation for the exam, I am proud to reach this milestone.

To everyone who has supported me and engaged with my content along the way, thank you. Your support and engagement with my content has massively contributed to getting me to where I am today.

I had the privilege of attending the Limerick Job Expo recently, where I had the chance to speak to dozens of young professionals.

A common theme that kept coming up was the feeling of being behind. Behind in their career because they’re not in their dream role yet. Behind in life compared to their peers because they decided to do a masters while others jumped straight into work. Behind compared to the previous generation, where everyone seemed to have life figured out by now.

I left feeling slightly anxious myself. I found myself listing the things I don’t have yet, the things others seem to have. I wasn’t thinking about any of this beforehand, but I caught myself going down the rabbit hole of comparison.

If we don’t challenge these thoughts, if we don’t notice how we internalise other people’s fears, we start to feel like we are losing in a race we are not even competing in. Every day, we unconsciously compare ourselves to others. But we all have different dreams, passions, values, and aspirations. If you stepped into someone else’s life, their career, their achievements, you would not feel fulfilled.

With so many of the people I spoke to, they were actually the youngest in their own race, in the thing they were striving for. Of course someone else has the dream job you want. That doesn’t mean you are behind, it just means your path is different.

When you step out of the comparison trap, it changes everything. So the next time you feel behind, ask yourself: if you are one of the youngest people in your room, how can you possibly be behind?

What if the job you’re in right now is quietly destroying your confidence, your wellbeing, and your future?

The truth is, most people don’t realise they’ve outgrown a role until the damage is already done. By then, stress, lack of recognition, and a decline in self-belief have already taken their toll.

If these feel familiar, it might be time to ask yourself the hard question: Is this role helping me grow, or holding me back?

Everything in your life starts with a feeling. Your thoughts shape how you feel and how you feel drives every choice you make, from the smallest decisions to the biggest moves in your career and life.

Over time, it is these small emotions and daily choices that build the life you live. Pay attention to what you feel because it is quietly shaping your reality.

What is the true cost of staying in a job you hate?

So many people I work with stay in roles that drain them, not because they want to, but because leaving feels too hard.

You have financial responsibilities. You’ve worked hard to reach your salary. You tell yourself the stability is worth it.

So you do nothing. You stay.

But the collateral cost?
Spending more money to “escape” through holidays, shopping, or alcohol/comfort food.
Loss of confidence because you’re constantly second-guessing yourself in a role you dislike.
Neglecting exercise or healthy habits because you’re too drained from work.
The regret of realising too late you traded joy for a paycheque.
Chronic stress that spills over into every part of life.

The result? A lower quality of life.
Which is the opposite of why we work in the first place.

We go to work to earn money so we can live well. To enjoy time and experiences with family. To meet our needs and create a good lifestyle.

If your job gives you a salary but takes away your joy, your health, and your peace, what’s the point?

Of course, I’m not saying walk out tomorrow. You still need a plan. You need to think about your finances, responsibilities, and next steps.

But those things can be worked on. You can save. You can Upskill. You can take small steps forward.

What matters most is that you take action, no matter how small, to move towards a life and career that feels good, not one that slowly drains you.

When you take even the smallest step forward, you prove to yourself that change is possible and that’s where freedom begins.

Career change. Personal change. New habits.

None of it is possible without building self-belief in your ability to achieve them.

Regret is unavoidable. We all have things we wish we’d done differently. Just make sure your regrets are never bigger than the dreams you had Regret is unavoidable. We all have something we regret. Make sure yours are not bigger than the dreams you had.

Are you feeling stuck in life lately?

Sometimes the best thing you can do is pause, take a breath, and recognise how far you’ve come. It’s easy to get so focused on where you’re going that you forget to enjoy the journey and lose sight of yourself along the way. Hitting refresh and starting again is sometimes all the motivation you need.
