𝐆𝐞𝐜𝐤𝐨 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐲𝐥𝐞 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐳𝐲 windsurf competition is coming to Courtmacsherry on Sunday September 20th!

This is our third year running this event, and it’s growing and improving every year. The goal is to gather windsurfers, local and across the country, no matter the level, for a fun day on the water testing out your skills and meeting other like-minded windsurfers! Or just come to watch.

This year, there are 2 events running on the day:

𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐲𝐥𝐞 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐳𝐲
Novice & Silver fleet
- Includes any moves from best tack, to heli tack, sail 360 etc in lightwind conditions (Full scoring sheet coming soon) If all you can do is tack, you can still enter!
- Choose your fleet on the day (we’ll help you)
- In strong winds, the format may change to racing
Gold fleet (if there are enough entrants!)
- Planing freestyle moves: vulcan, spock etc

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐖𝐀 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩
- Under 18 event, short racing style format in a low pressure environment, focused on having fun!
- This is the Munster regional event, and is a qualifying event for the national youth championship in Downings next year
- Entrants to Freestyle frenzy can race in this regional event for free, but you must register separetely

🕙 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞: TBC, Sunday Sep 20th
📍 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Gecko Adventures, Courtmacsherry (Find on google maps)
💶 𝐄𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐅𝐞𝐞: €30 (entry and lunch/hot drink) + €15 (Gear rental) + €10 (Car boot sale seller)
📒 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Must be done on the IWA website. For U18s, a parent must register (free) first, then add their dependant children

Program details and sequencing will be announced close to the day based on wind conditions and sign-up numbers.

Thanks to this absolutely marvelous team of outdoor instructors, leaders, supporters, teachers, rescuers, plasterputteron-ers, dynamic planners, team workers, problem solvers, risk assessors, high fivers, nature enthusiasts, laughter inducers, excitement engineers, adventure sport athletes, and caring companions.

These guys have made for an incredibly smooth season of excitement and fun on the water, and are fully responsible for what is often quoted as “THIS IS THE BEST SUMMER CAMP EVER!!” as well as stellar skills coaching on the summer academy programs, sailing courses and adults windsurf and kayak skills courses.

Thanks for making it all happen, and here’s to many more fantastic seasons to come 🔥🏄‍♀️⛵️🌊🛶
