We’re well into autumn now, and while the evenings may be drawing in, Audaxers are still out completing calendar events and permanents.

This weekend saw riders take on the Yola 200 in Wexford, along with the North to South 300 and 400, both starting just north of Belfast. Cyclists were also tackling permanents around the country, many squeezing in a last-minute ride to keep their RRTY streaks alive!

Coming up next are the Killeshin 200 in Laois and the Rambo 100 and 200 in Mayo.

🚴 Killeshin 200
Starting in Killeshin village, riders will follow the Carlow county boundary and enjoy some of the area’s finest scenery.

The route takes in Rossmore Hill, the River Barrow and the Blackstairs Mountains before heading north through Kildare and returning to Killeshin. A flatter option is also available, avoiding the two biggest climbs.

🚴 Rambo 100 & 200
One word keeps coming up when describing the Rambo routes: wild.

Riders will travel through sections of Wild Nephin National Park before heading towards Achill and joining the Wild Atlantic Way. Expect remote roads and dramatic scenery throughout the day.

Congratulations to Audax regular Micheal Brady, who won his category at the Connacht Road Racing Championships earlier today! Michaeal has his sights set on PBP 2027, and with form like this, he’ll have no problem getting to Brest and back. 👏🚴‍♂️

👏 Congratulations to the 21 riders who quite literally ran out of road last weekend!

Starting at Ireland’s most southerly point, Mizen Head, they kept pedalling north until they reached Malin Head and could go no farther.

A huge thank you to Joe Fitzpatrick for organising the event and keeping track of everyone as they made their way across the country. We’ve attached some photos and videos from the weekend.

Further south, we have the Yola 200, a relatively flat route showcasing much of Wexford’s beautiful coastline. The event takes its name from Yola, the forgotten language traditionally associated with the baronies of Forth and Bargy.

Huge congratulations to Cathy and Suzanne McWhite, who have completed Brevet Hiberniae! 🚴‍♀️🎉

Brevet Hiberniae is a cycle-touring challenge that takes riders across all four provinces of Ireland. Participants visit four landmarks in each of the 32 counties, travelling to every location by bicycle and taking a photograph of their bike as proof of passage.

There’s no time limit, so you can complete the challenge at your own pace and fit it around your schedule.

Complete all the locations in one province to earn that province’s medal. Finish all four provinces and the medals fit together to create one fantastic keepsake celebrating an incredible achievement.

The attached video shows the four province medals coming together in the McWhite household to form the complete Brevet Hiberniae award.

Congratulations again, Cathy and Suzanne; an outstanding accomplishment! 👏

This weekend saw the Audare 200 in Co. Limerick and the Three Provinces 300 in Co. Meath. Well done to everyone who took part, and a big thank you to the organisers for making both events happen.

Next up is the mighty Ran Out of Road 600! The concept is simple: start at Ireland’s most southerly point, point your front wheel north and keep pedalling. When you eventually run out of road at Malin Head, you’ve reached the finish line. You could almost navigate it with just a compass!

After completing an Audax event, many riders are keen to get their homologation numbers, which provide an official record of completed BRM events.

You don’t need to wait for the event organiser to send these to you; you can check your results directly through the ACP website. We’ve put together a short guide explaining what BRMs and homologation numbers are, and how to find your results online.

🇧🇪🇱🇺 Best of luck in Belgium!

Best of luck to Alan Hyland, Angelo Failla and Dave Tilly, who are taking on the Borders of Belgium and Luxembourg BRM 1000.

Starting and finishing in Antwerp, the route covers just over 1,000km with around 5,800m of climbing and a 75-hour time limit. It takes riders on a huge loop around Belgium and into Luxembourg, passing through the likes of Malmedy, Luxembourg City, Givet, Mons, Ypres and Ostend before the return to Antwerp.

Another serious long-distance challenge for the lads; wishing Alan, Angelo and Dave safe travels and a great ride. Hopefully the weather plays ball! 🚴🇮🇪

Another successful weekend of Audax events around the country. 🚴

Out West, 20 riders rolled out for the Sligo 100 and 200, with 12 taking on the 200km and eight on the 100km. Riders ranged in age from 19 to 68 and travelled from as far away as Cork and Wexford. A few light showers made an appearance, but nothing that could take away from the great Sligo scenery.

A big thanks to organiser Seamus O’Dowd, who even had a secret control and welcome water stop waiting for riders at the Caves of Kesh.

Over in the East, we had the Miners Cross 100 and 200. Thanks to Paul O’Donoghue, Michael Wildes and Clare Irwin from Sorrento Cycling Club for their help on the day. Paul even had the super-powered binoculars out, keeping a watchful eye on proceedings! 🔭

Next weekend we have two more events on offer, a 200km in the West and a 300km in the East.

🚴 Audare 200 – Adare, Co. Limerick

Starting from the Tourist Centre car park in Adare, the route heads west through Shanagolden and Glin before reaching a manned control in Ballybunion. From there it continues through Listowel and Abbeyfeale, tackling the main climb of the day before reaching Kanturk at 155km. The return heads north through Dromcolliher and Kilmeedy before a mainly downhill run back to Adare.

🚴 Three Provinces 300 – Slane, Co. Meath

Over in the East, the Three Provinces 300 heads northwest from Slane through Longford and Leitrim before turning back through Fermanagh and Cavan. Much of the route follows quiet, rolling countryside, with the final 100km taking riders through the drumlin landscape where steady pacing will pay dividends.
