🌿 Donard Glen Walking Trails 🥾🦌

A huge shoutout to group for developing and maintaining these beautiful local trails and creating routes for everyone to enjoy. 💚

The Fauna Loop is a 7.7km loop taking you from Donard through Ballyvrahan, around Fauna Hill and back again. The trail was supported by funding from the Department of Rural and Community Development, helping with trail infrastructure, signage, maps, gates and benches.

And this is the very landscape that inspired Fauna Trail Running Festival! 🦌

On the 13th of September, our 5 mile, 10 mile and half marathon routes will take you through these trails and the surrounding forests.

Come walk the trails. Come run them. Come discover Fauna. 🌿

Join a walk through millions of years along Dublin's coastline, between Portmarnock and Malahide. Guided by Anthea from Nature Tales & Trails, a science communicator, writer, and mountain leader with a PhD in Irish fossils (all about ammonoids, extinct relatives of squid and cuttlefish), we will go fossil hunting! These walks are all about discovering the ancient world and creatures hidden in the ground beneath our feet.The walk is suitable to children and adults. (The walks are accessible by public transport)

Yesterday we were out on the trails making our final preparations for our second Fauna Trail Running Festival!

We were checking the routes, soaking up the views, enjoying being out in nature and making sure everything is ready for race day. 👀⛰️
