People often ask what we actually do in Boyneside.
Are we a powerlifting gym?
A CrossFit gym?
A strength and conditioning gym?
The answer is… a bit of everything.
This Friday’s Free Friend Friday is built around our Conjugate training system.
The idea is simple.
Lift something heavy.
Move a bit faster than you thought you could.
Get a pump.
Have a laugh.
Go home feeling better than when you arrived.
The session will include:
Upper body strength work
A metcon
Accessories to finish
And before anyone worries… this isn’t about being fit enough or strong enough.
Everything can be scaled and we’ll coach you through the whole thing.
One of the best things about this gym has always been the people in it. So if you’ve a friend, husband, wife, brother, sister, workmate or someone who’s been saying, “I really should start training,” bring them along.
No pressure.
No intimidation.
No charge.
Just good training and good people.
This Friday is Free Friend Friday.
Come in and see what we’re about.

Every single one of our small group PT members hit a personal best on their sumo deadlift today.
That doesn’t happen by accident, it happens because they’ve shown up, trusted the process, and worked hard week after week.
At Boyneside, we believe strength is the foundation of healthy aging.
Every time you add a little more to the bar, you’re not just building muscle, you’re improving balance, posture, confidence, and longevity.
It’s not about being the strongest in the room, it’s about being stronger than you were last week.
Proud of the crew today. Big lifts, big smiles, and big steps forward.
Here’s to staying strong, for life.

.ie do incredible work providing free counselling, support services, and awareness initiatives for those affected by su***de, self-harm, depression, and grief. Their mission is to ensure that no one has to face their darkest moments alone, and we want to play our part in supporting that.
Every lifter who takes the platform at Get It Off Your Chest will not only be pushing for personal bests, but also raising awareness and funds for a cause that touches so many lives. The entry fee goes directly to SOSAD, and we’re encouraging everyone involved, athletes, coaches, friends, and supporters, to get behind the fundraising effort.
This event is about more than lifting weights. It’s about creating conversation around mental health.
Together, with SOSAD, we can make a real difference.

ANNOUNCEMENT – GET IT OFF YOUR CHEST
We’re proud to announce our next event: Get It Off Your Chest – a charity bench press competition in aid of su***de awareness and mental health.
This competition is about more than just lifting weights. It’s about starting conversations, and showing that no one has to carry their struggles alone.
You’ll notice our logo includes a semicolon ( ; ). This symbol is used worldwide as a mark of su***de awareness. Just like in writing, where a semicolon is used when an author could have ended a sentence but chose not to, the semicolon represents continuing your story when life feels overwhelming.
We believe strength isn’t just about what you can put on the bar, it’s about the courage to ask for help, and to support others when they need it most.
Get It Off Your Chest is an opportunity for lifters and the community to come together, raise awareness, and support mental health through the sport we love.
More details on how to enter and support will follow soon.
Because sometimes, talking about it is the heaviest weight lifted.

We’ve got a new face on the team, and we couldn’t be happier to have her!
We’re delighted to officially welcome Alexia to the Boyneside team.
She brings not only a wealth of knowledge and experience, but also the kind of energy and passion that makes our community stronger.
Alexia has already shown she’s here to contribute, support, and push the standard higher — exactly what we value in our team. We’re excited for what’s ahead and grateful to have her with us.
Alexia has already fit right in with the Boyneside family. She has been training with us for almost 2 years, in that time she has become a world record holder in the bench press.
She brings great energy, fresh ideas, and that same drive we all share to make this place better every single day.
She’s here to support, to push, and to be part of everything we’re building together.
We’re buzzing to see the impact she’ll have on our community.
