Subject: Treaty Talks In January
Hi All,
Today marks the 100 year anniversary of the Treaty vote.
I thought I’d share this little bit of history as it will be topical and a nice little club connection. Some kids in the club may be studying history in school and this can help bring it to life a bit more.

What many people don't know is that a number of founding members and past players of Kevin's were in the Dáil that day.
For: The Cosgrave’s and Michael Hayes are former members. Michael was a teacher in Synge St.
Against: Harry Boland who was a founding member, but later moved to Rathmines and then Faughs
Kevins were very active on the field during this period with hurling, football and athletics
Also listed on the teams in January was Peader Andrews who wnt on to play LOI soccer. He was a brother of Chris “Todd” Andrews and the current TD Chris Andrews is a descendent.
Sylvestor “Vesty” Muldowney (cousin of WT Cosgrave) and Lawless also listed on the schools team went on to represent Dublin at senior level at played in National Hurling League and All-Ireland Finals. Vesty was also a board member of the Central Bank of Ireland and a trustee of the Fine Gael party.
You will note that we were also playing Junior A Football in “St James Park” which is a park that was in Dolphins Barn, but that no longer exists. I’m unable to find where I was located exactly, but I suspect Dolphin Road or Dolphin House.
