Current Timetable for the bottom training court and the Grass verge beside it under the current Flood Lights.

This timetable has been drafted up and agreed by all clubs listed on it, it shows a very clear and unmistakable need and want for a Multi-use Training Facility in Kingswood Heights.

Get invovled with your Community and Neighbours and help us with our Push for our First safe, purpose built all weather training facility in Kingswood for Kingswood.

There is a serious need and has been for 30+ years in Kingswood for a Sports facility Hub where our old Tennis Courts currently stand. This multiple use sports facility hub will aim to accommodate local clubs in Kingswood such as but not limited to; Soccer, GAA, Bowles, Tennis, Active Age Club and the local fitness boot camp ect.

If the young people in the area aren't catered for appropriately it will lead to more antisocial behaviour and loitering in the future.

The 3 local schools would also benefit greatly from the sports facility hub as they could use it during school hours for their teams to train on and therefor progress on.

There are people living in Kingswood 40+ years now, born and rared here, that still are waiting for a safe place to train with their Local clubs. 40+ years later training and sharing the very same piece of grass they trained on as a child.
Where is the progression?
Where is the growth?
Where is the infrastructure?

A Community Training Facility for complete Social and Sporting Inclusion is what we want and what we all need.

The lack of facilities for All our Locals and Local Teams/Clubs/Organizations.

Will our Councillors support us and help us in securing a Sports Facility Hub for our locals? Local Men, Women and Children fill our teams as well as individuals and need a safe place to train. We need the courts resurfaced with an all weather surface so we actually have our First ever training facility. A safe place for all our Locals to train with their Teams here in Kingswood.

To all our Supporters and our Residents of Kingswood, we ask you to have a look at the excellent proposal our Chairperson Sharlene designed for the space, with the support of our Kingswood Heights Residents Association and the Kingswood Heights Sports Facility Hub for the abandoned Tennis Courts. Our proposal is to have both courts transformed into a Sports Hub.

We are STILL building a case for South Dublin County Council to view & hopefully then work with us to help the community of Kingswood Heights obtain a Sports Hub, which would benefit all & not just our Club but all future generations & organisations in our Kingswood Heights Community.

Why a Sport Facility Hub?
We feel a multipurpose sports hub would benefit a wider variety & range of people as well as skill sets & sports. It would benefit children from the ages of 4 in local teams, groups & Schools, to our senior citizens in the active age group in the community centre. So as you can see we are aiming for complete social & sports inclusion. Keeping fit and keeping active has a multitude of positive factors attached to it right across the board. Keeping kids & adults alike active is a must to help support a happy and healthy life.

This proposal will not change the current foot print of the Courts. It will change the black tarmac to a green artificial grass surface with secure locking Gates that currently it does not have. It will stop the antisocial behavior as it will be locked at night & maintained by the locals involved. It will allow a wider variety of balled sports and outdoor activities throughout the year regardless of the weather.

Please note We are NOT looking to extend the courts or make them private property. The Sports Hub will be more socially & Sports inclusive, opening the courts to more locals & more balled sports not just Tennis this time. Fair for All.
The Hub is designed as a Community Multi Sports Training Facility for all, not just Tennis.

The time these locals have given up & the dedication to this project is unbelievable, Many hours have gone in behind the scenes.

So lets get behind this to show our Communities support for South Dublin County Council to take heed.

Below is a Timeline from the start of The Hub with our Kingswood Heights Residents Association and SDCC way back in 2017, in 2018 a rep from Kingswood Castle FC joined the Residents Association to push the Kingswood Heights Sports Facility Hub on and designs it within objects from previous plans, right through to 2020 when the Hub was then put into CAD form by local company Creative Design Ireland 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 To Mick Duff putting forward our SLO and it been voted into the next Development Plan 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

At the heart of Kingswood, there are 4 tennis courts that over the years have fallen badly into disrepair from non-use.

What is needed now more than ever, is a Sports Facility Hub, for All sports to use and not just aimed at one sport. A sports hub that the whole community can use and have benefit of going forward, for many years to come. We currently have 16+ local teams and organizations amounting to a total number of over 660+ people that must travel outside Kingswood to train for Local teams due to the circumstances.

There is a major need & want in Kingswood, for our First facility for local teams to train in but this isn’t limited to them. We have engaged with our local Community Centre, primary and secondary schools and they also see a real benefit to having this area Redesigned and support it. The Community Centre have an active age group and the 1500+ local students from the 3 schools could use it for PE classes and their after school camogie, football, soccer and athletic to name just a few. If this area could be revamped into an all-weather surface, it would be so well used by the whole community, across all ages, all sports, complete social inclusion throughout the year for all the 2160+ people needing it to date.

Some of the teams and organizations involved in the push for Kingswood Sports Facility Hub are: Kingswood Castle FC, Kingswood FC, St Kevins Kilians GAA, Kingswood Heights Residents Association and Kingswood Heights Community and Leisure Centre. So as you can see the community is really coming together for this cause and the need for it.

Just to note, Tennis can be practiced in this Hub, but mainly Tennis can be played on a tennis court.

Please sign this petition to show your support for our aim for a Multi Use Sports Facility Hub in Kingswood and NOT another Tennis Court.

Thank You.
