RIDER ANNOUNCEMENT | JAMES ELLISON 🏁

We’re delighted to welcome James Ellison back to the Sunflower Races!

Originally from Kendal, Cumbria, and now based in North County Dublin, James has enjoyed an incredible international career across MotoGP, World Superbike, MotoAmerica, World Endurance and British Superbike competition.

A two time European Superstock Champion and World Endurance Champion, James has also claimed the British Superbike Privateer Championship, CB500 Championship and ACU 125 Championship.

His career has seen him compete against the world’s best in MotoGP, securing an impressive 7th place finish aboard the Paul Bird Aprilia CRT in 2012. In British Superbikes, he recorded 15 race wins, 65 podiums and 23 pole positions, finishing third in the championship twice and runner up in 2009.

James last raced at the Sunflower in 2011, when he lined up alongside Sam Lowes as team mate at PTR Honda. Now, 15 years later, we’re looking forward to seeing him back at Bishopscourt!

Two years ago today, Brands Hatch 2024 - A first for Team HSO Racing 🏁

On this day in 2024, Team HSO Racing secured a race win at Brands Hatch, a momentous occasion and a first in the team’s history. What began as an ambitious venture, built on determination, a shared passion for racing and a willingness to take on a challenge, had reached a milestone that made every late night, setback and mile travelled worthwhile!

HSO Racing was never built on the idea that everything would be easy, it was built on the belief that with the right people a clear vision and a willingness to put the work in, you can create something special, even when the odds are stacked against you.

To take that ambition onto one of the most iconic circuits in British motorsport and come away with a race win was something special. Not simply for the result itself, but for what it represented, a small determined team can achieve.

Brands Hatch will always hold a special place in the HSO Racing story, it marked a defining moment in our journey, one that helped shape the ambition and belief we continue to carry forward!

The BMW F 900R Cup is a one make championship designed to deliver competitive motorcycle racing without the enormous budgets traditionally associated with professional motorsport. The 895cc, two-cylinder F900 R produces 105 hp and 93 Nm of torque, with identical machinery and tightly controlled technical regulations helping put the emphasis firmly on rider ability, racecraft and team performance.

The Cup specification adds a comprehensive race kit including an Arrow full exhaust system, K-Tech suspension, R&G protection, rearsets, HM quickshifter, race bodywork and steering damper, creating a race ready package from a relatively accessible production motorcycle. The current UK pricing is £6,995 inc. VAT for the base F900 R, with the controlled race kit at £5,995, plus ECU flash and build costs, making it an unusually accessible route into competitive circuit racing.
