Rain, rainbow, swell or shine, our dedicated sailors spent Spring and Summer impressing on the waves. The year's racing is far from finished though, we'll see you next week for the start of Autumn League 🌊🍂

Huge congratulations to our unstoppable HYC Junior Oppy Squad, who crushed it at the Irish Optimist Nationals! Taking on the rest of the country at the Royal Cork Yacht Club in Crosshaven, our young sailors gave it their all out on the water-showing incredible grit, and ultimate HYC team spirit.

There was brilliant representation from HYC across all fleets. A special shoutout to our youngest and bravest HYC Juniors who did us proud in the Regatta fleets, and massive congrats to our talented prizewinners.

Thanks to: our super coaches; Sorcha G O’C, Charlie K, Cillian T and our weather guru Andrew K, to the brilliant teams at Royal Cork Yacht Club and International Optimist Dinghy Association Ireland iodai for hosting such a fantastic event, and the very welcome support of Howth Yacht Club members.

Next up on the IODAI Calendar is the Connacht Championships with our friends at Galway Bay Sailing Club on September 12–13. And in the meantime the Covy Dinghy Regatta 2026 is on at HYC this coming Sunday. All are welcome!

Congrats to Cian, Ciara, Aoibhín, Fiachra and Dylan for their performance at the J24 Northern Championship in Carlingford last weekend, winning the K25 division under tricky conditions and hitting a season-best 4th place finish.

The team has been quoted as saying "the racing was really competitive", "the fleet were really helpful" and "dinner was really good".

Well, are all 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 proud of our K25 team, and can't wait to see what they get up to at the J24 Nationals in Foynes next month!
