End of an era
Some of our wonderful teens had their last class with us today, as they get ready to do the Leaving Cert and take on the world
Some lovely cards, and Matthew casually lifting a Personal Best over 2x his bodyweight(155kg!) as a goodbye present
It’s always a little weird when it seems like, in the blink of an eye, the 13 year olds who walked in the studio are now almost adults
We’re privileged to see the growth and spend time with such wonderful humans each week
Teens Class is sweet spot of just the right amount of martial arts, strength training, and social fun to help steer them in the right direction - at least I hope so
Gonna miss the ones moving on, but the whole point is to move on!
And we’ll continue to love working with the ones still growing 💪

• CORE STRENGTH •
Your core strength will always be linked to whatever you are doing
We teach it from from an isolated standpoint to gain a sense of what it is, and what it feels like
and that’s extremely valuable, BUT
as soon as we have that, we’re integrating it into everything we do
Because the demands on your core will always be linked to whatever you’re doing with your limbs
Essentially, your core is your whole body
And everything you do challenges it in it’s own way
Embrace it all!

A succinct but really important review from Anne
Why?
Because SO many people invest in being coach, but still hold a strong narrative that they “don’t want to cause any hassle by asking for help”
They “don’t want to take up our time in class”
They think “oh my god you have the patience of a saint”
And our reply to these things, and something we try to make abundantly clear is…
COACHES LOVE TO COACHES
COACHES WANT TO COACH
YOU ARE THE PERSON WE ARE HERE TO HELP
THERE IS NOBODY MORE IMPORTANT THAN YOU IN THIS MOMENT
JUST LIKE THE NEXT PERSON IS ALSO THE MOST IMPORTANT
So… this review speaks to the person who wants, needs and deserve world class coaching, individual care and attention
Because it’s what we do
You’re who we want to help
And if you’re paying your hard-earned money for coaching ANYWHERE, not just .ie
Then please accept the help, ask for help, ask how to get better, how to do things well

• Strong To Be Useful(?) •
Actually, we could train to be Strong, Fit, Flexible and Skillful enough to Do Cool Things
Because if we can do ‘Cool Things’ that demand we have a certain level of Strength, Fitness, Flexibility and Strength… well that’s a pretty good signifier that you’re likely Strong, Fit, Flexible and Skillful enough to be useful
It’s important we reframe training for people, into things that fit into a better life
The example above, means enjoying your training, it becoming skill acquisition, and you getting all of the things you want as a happy consequence of ENJOYING MOVEMENT
You may love accountability… and we’d rather reframe that into simply having something you LOOK FORWARD TO DOING, and not something you HAVE to do
You may be told you need to look after your muscle mass and bone density(we have most things in common, but obviously to varying degrees)… and ENJOY GETTING STRONGER, because you can rest assured those muscles and bones will get the absolute best, and not have to so something you resent doing
Same results, entirely different state of being, mentally the optimism and feeling is entirely different, and that carries through to your body
Every Day.
The Moo Stu from day one was built to challenge what people thought a gym was
We don’t like lazy narratives, and are in the lovely place to change people’s lives, in the simple way we approach everything
We’re not in the results business, but we ARE in the PROCESS+CHANGE business
So we focus on making every day the part of your life you love the most
Because the change is in WHO YOU ARE, and HOW YOU ARE each day
Results don’t really exist, because life continues he next day
So we’re solving for lifestyle, because that’s real.
So if you’d love to have something to look forward to

• 2 TYPES OF PROGRESS•
The absolute beauty of the simple linear process of lifting more weights, and that being such a tangible was of showing someone how strong they are/have become/are capable of
So proud of the ladies on our 6 Week Foundation Program understanding what that progress is, and feeling confident and proud adding more weights. It’s earned
On the 2nd slide, then, Ruth’s flexibility has finally clicked. Something less tangible than adding weights. It’s a feeling, and yes, some clear progress for the coach who knows what they want to see
When a member comes up after class with the words ‘it’s all starting to work now’… it’s like the perfect thing a coach wants to hear ☺️
No matter what style of training you like, want or need, progress should always be the aim
The one fundamental thing we want members to understand is that things should always be Suitably Challenging, and Progressive
So proud of everyone doing great everywhere

Not everyone stays forever
People change jobs, move house etc
Some people already live far away
In Darren’s case, travelling from Dun Laoghaire to Terenure to .ie
Was it worth it? We think it’s fair to say yes
Has it set him up for life? Fair to say yes
Do we miss him? Of course
What’s my point?

• EXPRESS •
We don’t want to spend our lives *just* training
We want to express our ability, express ourselves
It’s important to us .ie that we’re building skills, building ability, and expressing what we’re capable of
There’s more to life than training
So enjoy what your body is capable of, and use your training to fuel the ability to express
Shout out to Amy B, who is up to multiple sets of 10 rep pushups in our strength class, and moving to deficit dynamic pushups in our dynamic strength class
And Garrett aka G-Dawg for the same level of progress
