A little bit about me for anyone who doesn’t know who I am.
My name is Ruth & I’m a professional Irish dancer from Donegal, Ireland. I began dancing at the age of 6, competed until I was 18 at all- Ireland and world level. After my leaving cert when I turned 18, I did an audition for at their summer school. It was my lifelong dream to be in the company and fortunately I was chosen and joined the company the following spring. I’ve toured all over the world with Riverdance and other dance shows in some of the most wonderful theatres and arenas and feel extremely lucky.

I obtained my first principal role when I was 21 in a show called Titanic Dance, was a pinnacle career moment for me. I really found my style as an individual from that freedom to explore my strengths as an artist. I will say, tour life is not easy, with many 12 hour journeys and injuries - it isn’t as glamorous as it looks, but it is so worth it.

I’m also a B. Ed graduate / Primary teacher and work day to day as so at the moment. When Covid hit, I returned to my studies after taking time out to tour as a professional dancer. I honestly don’t know how my university allowed all of the deferrals but I’m so thankful that they did and I was eventually able to complete my degree. In 2021 I studied screen acting at & have been dabbling in the world of film in Ireland and the UK with projects here and there.

While living in London last year, I began to miss what made me…. “me”. Covid had cut my career short and I hung up my shoes in order to pursue my education during that time. So, an unofficial retirement I suppose!
With a lot of meditating and thought, I felt passionate about taking everything I’ve ever learned as a dancer, & giving it back to those who want to follow this path or perhaps dance for fun. It lead me to creating this year as a moved back to Ireland from London to work on what my heart wants. I am a creative at heart, & creating, educating & making art is what sets my soul on fire. I can’t wait to give you everything that I’ve learned and watch you grow 🤍
