Public Consultation on Open Seasons Order Closes Tomorrow
The closing date for responses to the Public Consultation on the Open Seasons Order is 5pm tomorrow, 3rd May.
The Open Seasons Order is the main piece of legislation that determines which wild bird species can be hunted in Ireland and when they may be hunted. Responses to the public consultation will help determine future legislation, so are therefore extremely important.
Country Sports Ireland has already submitted our response to the consultation and strongly argued that NPWS and other conservation NGOs should work with the hunting community on research, information gathering and conservation action for the benefit of wild birds rather than considering any unnecessary restrictions on hunting. We strongly encourage anyone with an interest in hunting wild birds to respond along the same lines via the link below:
