The Paul Cummins School of Judo

Shona Maguire was fighting at the Deaflympics 2025 in Japan with our head coach Paul Cummins.

Shona faced the No. 1-ranked Ukrainian Anna Shostak in the quarterfinals, which moved her into the repechage. She then defeated an Indian competitor to secure her place in the bronze medal fight, where she was unfortunately beaten by the Japanese girl.

Entries are open for a Landmark Event , the tenth edition of the Irish Masters Open, now. We are looking forward to welcoming you on the 26 October 2024. Keep an eye on this page!

We had a fantastic days Judo, with the clubs of Leinster coming together for the Mini Mon competition held at the Greenhills Community Centre. Nearly 100 players entered the event, keep a close eye for next years event. Many thanks to all of the staff to support this event, for arranging mats, table staff, referees etc. Thank you for all the support to make this happen.

We had a fantastic Irish Masters Open yesterday, with several teams from abroad to take part in the competition. The highest number of competitors at 105 entries! Some great Judo took place, well done to everyone who helped organise such a successful event 🇮🇪

We held a very successful table official course for the Leinster clubs, learning to use the table equipment and complete the event sheets at local and national level. This course was organised by Paul Cummins, and ran by Leo Gibbons, Robert Stewart and Sarah O’Gara, great work from them all! We appreciate all your hard work
