This weeks wonderfully poetic run report comes from Olive O Malley …..
5th September 2026
Ballymount parkrun #10
One hundred gathered, bright and keen,
For Ballymount’s tenth — what a scene!
Runners, walkers, side by side,
With smiles and friendship as our guide.
Caroline Nolan reached her fifty,
A milestone earned, and rightly nifty!
Fifty parkruns — what a feat,
A wonderful reason to celebrate and greet.
Peter Fenyvesi led the way,
First finisher on this special day,
While Vanessa Sallier’s age grade soared,
A brilliant performance to be applauded.
Four first-timers took their very first stride,
With Ballymount friends there by their side:
Gareth Davies, Alice Harding too,
Catherine Birch and Ryan Byrne — welcome to you!
From Poland and Hungary visitors came,
Adding international sparkle to the game.
And parkruns near and parkruns far,
From Corkagh to Galway, our visitors are stars.
Griffen, Shanganagh, Fairview’s crew,
Dodder Valley joined in too.
And Michal Tomasz deserves a cheer —
His sixtieth parkrun location,
And only his second one here in Ireland!
Twenty-two Super Volunteers stood,
Giving their time as only they could.
Marshalling, scanning, guiding the way,
Making Ballymount special on parkrun day.
Niamh’s First Timers’ talk was expertly done,
Well attended, informative and fun.
With tips and encouragement to set them right,
She helped our newcomers start their morning bright.
Then Charis, Run Director, gave the call,
Bang on 9:30, she sent off them all!
One hundred set off with energy and cheer,
To tackle the course we love so dear.
And after fifty-six minutes had passed,
Sorina, Tail Walker, came home last.
Bringing everyone safely back to the fold,
With kindness and care worth more than gold.
So here’s to number ten — hip hip hooray!
To every runner and walker who came out today,
To milestones, visitors, volunteers and fun,
And to all who make Ballymount numbe one!
Ten events down, with many more to go,
With friendships to make and PBs to show.
Whatever your pace, whether running or walking,
Ballymount welcomes you —
keep moving, keep smiling, keep talking!
