Delighted to report that Deerpark O45 Senior League Men's Team has been promoted to Class 1 for next season. This team has been knocking on the door for the last couple of seasons and got over the line by beating Ratoath 3-0 on Sunday. Congrats to Captain Walter Hafner, who had to bow out due to a hand injury, but led the team with distinction and conviction! We now play Malahide 2 in Lansdowne LTC at 12.00 on Sunday 18th Oct.

Have a goo at this summary of the Senior League group phase highlights. In short, it was pretty good. 53% win ratio overall; 2 teams qualified out of their group and are aiming for promotion; while one team was relegated. Hard luck to our Ladies O35 first team who were pipped on a champs tiebreak. If you fancy a Sunday drive, head for Stackallen 11.00 tomorrow morning (4th Oct) and cheer on our Womens O35 Team 3. Our Mens O45 team are into the semi-finals on Sunday 11th at home to Ratoath.

Update on how we are doing in the Senior League after most teams have played 3 matches. So far, we have won 18 ties and lost 11, which can't be too bad. Our Women's O35 DP3 team are leading their group in Class 5, with 7 points from 9; and our Men's O45 Class 2 team are also leading their group with 5 points from 6. Our Women's O35 DP1 team are well positioned in Class 2 and look set for a final day showdown with Glasnevin, whom they trail by a point, despite winning all 3 ties to date. You can check out how your favourite team are doing in the attached summary.

Onwards and upwards - here's to a strong finish from all our teams and, hopefully, a promotion or two. Maybe even a pennant!

What a day we had on Saturday for the Adult Club Finals. Congrats to all our winners, especially Men's Singles Champion Cian O'Sullivan (who had a clean sweep of Men's Singles, Men's Doubles and Mixed Doubles) and Women's Singles Champion Sinéad Kelly. With the return of the BBQ, Katie on the box and The Fridays on the verandah, it was pure craic. We are spoiled!

You can find the full list of winners and photos from the day on this link:

Excitement is building ahead of Saturday night's BBQ at the end of the Adult Club Championships, with the return of former Chairman Tony Fleming and his magnificent back-up troupe, The Fridays, playing. Just to whet the appetite, here's Tony playing 'The Lonesome Boatman' in The Punch Bowl - captured earlier this year at enormous cost. But if you can't wait until Saturday, you can catch the lads in the Punch Bowl this Friday and every first Friday of the month. It's a rollicking good (and free, apart from the drink!) night out.

Quick summary of how Week 1 of Senior League went. Plus a gratuitous shot of our Womens DP2 team in Skerries looking fab - Sylvia Ballagh, Cliona Lawlor, Clare McIntosh, Ciara Butler and Kathryn Twidwell. Photo would have looked even more fab, but Katherine Young had to take the pic!

Tough enough opening week, but promising 3-0 starts for our Class 6 Women and our O45 Class 2 Men. Tough luck on our Mens O35 DP3 team who lost all three matches on Champs tiebreaks!

Men's Captain David Keane organised a challenge match recently for some of the developing Deerpark players against St Mary’s. 8 Deerpark Players played a round robin against 12 St Mary’s players. The Deerpark players were Matthew Daly, Matthew Collins, Peter Clifford, Manu Prasad, Ciaran Molloy, Patrick Rooney, David Flynn and Brendan Geoghegan. A great success all round.
