People think the hardest part of solo travel is being alone.
Nope.
Itâs trying to put sunscreen on your own back. đâď¸
But the funny thing is, this reel isnât really about sunscreen.
As we get older, many of us value our independence.
We want our own room.
Our own space.
The freedom to do our own thing.
But we also appreciate having people around.
Someone to have dinner with.
Someone to share a laugh with.
Someone to take a photo.
Someone to help with the bits you canât quite reach. đ
Because connection matters.
Not just for sunscreen application⌠although that helps too. âď¸
Thatâs why I created Zen & Tonic Wellness Activity Breaks.
Weâre together, but separate.
Free to do our own thing, but always there to help each other along the way.
And not just with sunscreen. đ¤

He said we werenât âproper pilgrimsâ as he elbowed his way past us!
Apparently proper pilgrims carry all their luggage, stay in basic hostels, have cramps and are supposed to suffer on their journey!
Meanwhile, we spent the day walking through beautiful Spanish countryside, laughing, chatting, stopping for coffee, staying active and finishing with a swim in the river.
(Then we checked into our lovely hotel where our luggage was waiting for us!).
Everyone is entitled to walk their own Camino.
This just happens to be ours. đ¤
Maybe thatâs true of life too.
You donât have to do things the way everyone else does.
You just have to find a way that works for you.
Everyone walks their own Camino.
Weâre doing it our way. đ¤
⸝
What have you been told youâre doing âthe wrong wayâ? đ
âď¸ BUEN CAMINO!
Today I am off to Spain today with a wonderful group of travellers.
If youâve ever wondered what itâs like to travel with me, follow along this week as we walk part of the Camino de Santiago and then relax for two days!
Thereâll be stunning scenery, plenty of laughs, a few wrong turns, and almost certainly some blisters. đ
And if youâre watching thinking, âI wish Iâd booked thatâŚâ donât worry.
Iâve got Mallorca in October and Sri Lanka in February.
My trips are for people who enjoy the finer things in life, but still have a sense of adventure. People who know that getting older doesnât mean getting old.
Because the best adventures donât have an age limit.
Say yes to life. Say yes to new experiences. Say yes to yourself. đ¤

This weather is enough to depress anyone. đ§ď¸
Especially if youâre fed up waiting for other people to travel with.
How about you come with me instead? âď¸
Iâve got two adventures coming up:
đ´ Mallorca â Octoberđ Sri Lanka â February
And tomorrow Iâm heading off on the Camino de Santiago in Spain.
So if youâre curious about what itâs like to travel with me, follow along in my stories and reels this week.
Thereâll be plenty of laughs, a few wrong turns, probably some blisters... and definitely great craic. đ
Because travel isnât about finding the perfect companion.
Itâs about saying yes to yourself instead of waiting for everyone else.

Are you making time for you?
Be honest⌠I know youâre not. đ¤
The women I work with will make time for everyone else.
Their partner.
Their children.
Their friends.
Their parents.
But themselves?
Usually last on the list.
Thatâs one of the reasons I created these trips.
Join the group.
Wander off.
Read a book.
Go for a swim.
Have a nap.
No guilt required.
Because after years of putting everyone else first, sometimes the greatest luxury is having the freedom to choose.
The most important relationship youâll ever invest in is the one you have with yourself.
Maybe itâs time to spend a little more time with her. đ¤

đ¤ If your life looks different than you imagined, youâre not alone.
People ask me what happened to me.
The truth?
Life is what happened.
It doesnât always turn out the way we planned.
But some of the most amazing things in my life happened after life decided to change direction.
Looking back, I can see that some of my greatest adventures, friendships and opportunities came after the plans changed.
Life is a cycle.
Keep going. đ¤
Has life taken you somewhere you never expected?
You wonât find brown rice, celery or perfect influencer poses on my trips. đ
What you will find is laughter, friendship, adventure, comfortable beds, real conversations and everyone cheering each other on.
Bring your HRT. Bring your creaky knees. Bring your sense of humour.
Most of all, bring yourself.
You donât need to lose weight first.
You donât need to be fitter first.
You donât need to wait for someone to come with you.
Come exactly as you are.
Because life is happening now, not someday.
Solo⌠but never alone. đ¤âď¸
If youâve been waiting for a sign to book the trip, this might be it. đ

Turning into my mother was not on my vision board đ
When I was 14, my mam put a plastic bag on her head when it started to lash rain.
I nearly died from embarrassment.
Fast forward a few decadesâŚ
I forgot my hat and spent the afternoon on the beach with a t-shirt on my head.
Not only did I not careâŚ
I thought it was a great idea. đ¤ˇââď¸đ
One of the unexpected joys of getting older is realising nobody is paying as much attention to you as you think.
So wear the thing.
Do the thing.
Put the t-shirt on your head if necessary.
Life is a lot more fun when youâre not worried about looking ridiculous.
Sorry Mam.
You were right all along. đ¤
Whatâs the one thing you swore youâd never do⌠and now do all the time?
Be honest!
