The Blackrock College table quiz was a great success on Friday night with all in great spirits. Over 180 people made it a sell out with 40 tables competing for the prizes. Friends First were our main sponsors - backed up generously by O'Connor Sheedy, Gartlan Furey, Macken's Pharmacy, OneView Healthcare, 8A in Monkstown, Merrion Capital, Boulevard Cafe, Joe O’Reilly amongst others.

Quizmaster was Mr Donal Marren, former teacher in the school and founder member of the club with the late Joe McGrath in 1983. The contest was hotly contested with questions ranging from history to sport and general knowledge. 'Who played in Croke Park this year for both the Dublin senior team and Derry Minor teams?' being a typical example.

In the end, table 6 - James Kelly, Cian Reilly, Mark Duignam & Kevin O'Donnell just edged Robert Dalton, Ronan McNamara and others. Third place went to one of the past pupil teams of Garrett Keane, Chris Stewart, Pat O'Neill & Neil Wall with Barry Andrews as tactical coach!

Sincere thanks to all who helped and supported - to Blackrock Bowling & Tennis Club as our hosts - special thanks to Anna Sheeran, Orla Walsh, Dolores Powderly, Eithne Boland and Kay Kelly.
