Busy weekend visiting Lough Derg for the Irish Squib Champs 2025. Dramatic sky and lively sailing with 41 boats. Thanks to the LDYC team for welcoming us and to John Leech and his water based team for getting in the full schedule in not always consistent conditions.

First regional of 2025 banked. Well done to Rob Stanley and Fergus O'Kelly who had a solid weekend and were unlucky not to podium. Jill Sommerville and Tom also had some excellent results. On to Derg in 3 weeks where the Irish Champs hopes to boast an entry pushing 50 boats.

Kinsale’s Travers and O'Riordan Win Northern Squib Championship at Killyleagh Strangford Lough hosted the Northern Championship for Squibs, with Ian Travers and Keith O'Riordan winning amidst ideal conditions.

Three weeks out from the Irish Squib Championships 2024 in Howth Yacht club kindly sponsored by Provident. Entries are building nicely with 19 on the board and plenty more committed. Also, we’ll have a 3 course Championship dinner on the Saturday night at €38 per ticket. Early purchase of dinner tickets is extremely helpful to our resiident HYC chef and his team.
