The Irish Air Corps in association with Irish Road Club and Lucan Cycling Racing Club present the annual Morgan Sparrow Memorial Sportif.

Commandant Morgan Sparrow was a helicopter pilot in the Irish Air Corps and was the Officer Commanding of 301 Squadron (Tactical Helicopter Squadron). He was also a keen cyclist and raced for Irish Road Club. In May 2012, while participating in the Dublin Inter Club league race, Morgan was involved in a crash and tragically suffered a fatal head injury. His friends and colleagues from the Irish

So that's a wrap for 2018. Thank you very much to all those who participated....It was a very enjoyable day made all the better by the weather and the happy cyclists.

Evening all.....Online registration is now closed!
Registration opens in Casement Aerodrome at 0800hrs. Weather should be cool but dry in the morning but overall it will be a classic autumnal day....Perfect for cycling! See you all tomorrow morning

There were reports of a few tech issues using the online registration, but all is sorted and places are still available (for now!)

Our final planning meeting took place in Casement Aerodrome on Friday last. All feeding, logistics, vehicles and support personnel are ready to go!! All we need now is good weather and plenty of eager cyclists!!!

This years Morgan Sparrow Memorial Sportive will take place on Saturday 29th September 2018.
As usual, the event will commence in Casement Aerodrome, Baldonnel and all participants will experience the infamous top notch marshaling and logistics provision that the Irish Air Corps has become known to provide!

110km of hills, rain and cross winds! To those of you lucky enough to be part of the 2017 edition of the Morgan Sparrow Sportive, wasn't yesterday the perfect cycling day!!!😜
