So the RCSI sailing club has just competed in their 3rd event of the year, and probably their best.
It was the first time RCSI had a team at the Irish University Sailing Association team racing Inter-Varsities since 2004.
There were 27 teams entered in the event, from 9 universities.
Over the weekend, we sailed 6 races and managed to win 4 of them. It was mainly some unlucky capsizes that lost us the two races.
Rumour has it, it was also the first time an RCSI team capsized ever in the history of Irish University Sailing. So good to put something in the record books.
We also managed to do some trekking through the woods, high ropes and swimming, so a jam packed weekend.
Congrats to the UCD Sailing Club 1st team who took home the overall 1st prize. This was a minor win for us, as their captain, Cahill , instructed RCSI sailors at our lessons last semester and has also acted as a coach for us at events.
Also a big shoutout to Trinity Sailing for organising a really fun event.
Another shoutout to Ahmed McZainy for locking car keys inside the car hahahah

So our second event of the season finished up yesterday down in Bantry.
After a long drive down(6hrs😯) we got down on Friday night ready to make the most of the weekend!
Saturday so a lot of wind, and sadly not much sailing.
For Saturday night it was off to Skibbereen with the other 200 sailors.
On Sunday morning we did our best to get the house spotless and then off to the sailing club.
Seen below is our fantastic photoshoot!
Our next event is probably the biggest of the year, 6-10th of March in Carrick on Shannon!
Big thanks to UCC for organising the event!

Hey guys, the next inter varsitie event is coming up soon, in Bantry Cork.
We are sending a team as well as a few 'non sailing subs'. These are spots for people interested in sailing at future events or next year, but not quite ready now. It's open to anyone at a first come first serve basis, I can't guarantee everyone wanting to go will be able to, as we have to prioritise sailors first.
The event is two nights down in Bantry next weekend(9/10th).
