Our U15.4 team came out on top after a very competitive game at home to Ballyfermot United. Castleknock went behind early on but equalised with a penalty from Ryan to go in at half time all square. Ryan and Liam scored in the second half and despite conceding a second goal near the end, Castleknock held on to win 3-2. Great game between 2 well matched teams 👏.

Castleknock Celtic’s U12 Div 1 Sunday team enjoyed an unforgettable few days at the Newcastle Lake Cup in Lake Garda.

In the first of seven group games, the team immediately got a point on the board with a creditable draw against Slovenia side Brinje Grosuplje before tackling a fine Hellas Verona team where they fell to a hard-fought 2-0 defeat.

Next up were Croatian giants Hadjuk Split where a Rhys screamer combined with phenomenal work-rate earned a brilliant 1-1 draw against a team who would go on to beat both AC Milan and Benfica in the competition. Across the game, the defensive unit of goalkeeper Charlie and defenders Aidan, Sean, Senan and Eoin were immense.

Things didn’t get any easier after Split when facing the might of eventual tournament winners AC Milan who were kept at bay for half of the game, before emerging with a 4-0 victory.

The team’s first victory game next against local side Castelnuovo thanks to two goals from Luke, while the final game of a six-match day saw a late defeat to Stockholm.

The following day, after another late loss to Rome-based side ACR Football, the team – fresh from a few hours in the pool - took on Rimini in their section semi-final and enjoyed a 4-0 victory thanks to a brace of goals from both Rhys and Louis while the speed and quality of Aiden, Zoe and Sean contributed to an outstanding result.

The section final followed the next day against Diavoletti Calcio – a partner club of Juventus – where two goals from the rampaging runs of Fletcher and another created from a devilish Hugh cross saw the team finish on a high with a 3-1 victory.

Our 10.1 girls team came runners up in the Blackpool Imternational Cup. The girls played a fantastic game against eventual winners Parks FC.

The coaches and parents couldn’t be prouder of the group, and it felt like a win in spite of the tears that were shed at the end.

U10.13 Castleknock Green machine unbeaten run continues!

Castleknock put in another stellar performance at home and produced a great team performance against a really good Leixlip side! Both teams battling hard.

There was some top goalkeeping, solid defending and great creative play throughout from Castleknock midfield and strikers as the winning streak continues 👊
