This week’s job success comes from a client who interviewed with a public sector regulator for a specialist role (at Assistant Principal level) and was offered the job! I couldn't be happier for them!!

This week’s job success comes from a client who interviewed with a not‑for‑profit organisation for a senior role.
I supported them in preparing for both their first and second‑round interviews.
This client hugely impressed me throughout, so I wasn’t at all surprised to hear they’d also impressed the interview board. I'm happy for them!

🧐🎯 My chairing and shortlisting capability‑based interviews made some things obvious: this current set of tips highlights what candidates did that genuinely strengthened their scores and what worked against them.
🌟 This week’s tip, the sixth in the series, is about how examples are still an essential part of these interviews.

I got a lovely surprise this week! A client told me I’d been mentioned on Reddit and they sent me what had been posted there when someone asked about working with me.
The person who wrote it came #1 in their county (and mentioned later in the thread that it was for Higher Executive Officer) and their review of working with me was genuinely lovely to read.
I don’t know who they are, but I’m very grateful for their kind words. Mostly, I’m just delighted for them. They did the work, they earned the result and it’s a privilege to have played even small part in their preparation.

🧐🎯 My chairing and shortlisting capability‑based interviews made some things obvious: this current set of tips highlights what candidates did that genuinely strengthened their scores and what worked against them. This tip also applies to competency‑based interviews.
🌟 This week’s tip, the fourth in the series, is about how two people with the same experience can land very different scores depending on how they frame their examples and what they focus on. It’s a follow‑up to yesterday’s post with photos that showed how a small shift in angle changes what you see. The same principle applies in interviews. This tip gives the practical interview advice behind that idea.
