From everyone at the club we would like to give a huge thanks to all who donated to the fundraiser over the last two weeks. We flew past the 1000 kilometre mark over the weekend with the lads getting in final runs all over the city.

We are delighted to have raised over €3,500 which will help support our club but more importantly half will go towards helping a great charity - ALONE - who are doing really important work in the community at a really important time.

Thanks again to everyone on behalf of the club and ALONE - we really appreciate the mighty support πŸ™πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

With a week to go and reaching the half way point of our 1000km target we’d like to say a huge thanks to everyone who has donated to our club and charity ALONE so far. It really means a lot to our small club and equally to a great charity πŸ™

Great reports of some big runs coming in from the lads today who are out hitting the roads across the city! Shout out to club captain James Curran and Cillian Ryan who both clocked in a 25km run this morning that was matched with donations per km by a group of supporters to give us a great boost today.

To help us in our final push you can donate to the link below. A huge thanks to everyone who has supported the fundraiser so far!!! πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

Rathmines Roosters 6-3 Atletico Malahide.

First league game of 2020 and big win for the club away to Malahide. Puts us up to 4th in the table and with games in hand it’s all to play for with half the season to go. Great to see Spud Conway back in the red and black making his first league appearance of the campaign with a man of the match performance. Also best of luck to Kylo on his travels. Huge loss for the Roosters but he’ll be back next season if he doesn’t get his move to Boca Juniors!

At home to Shelbourne AFC next Saturday. Get down and support the lads πŸ’ͺ🏻

Rathmines Roosters 4-4 Tallaght Utd

The Roosters had an epic encounter with league leaders Tallaght Utd who had yet to even concede a goal or drop points in Division 1 of the UCFL this season.

Roosters got off to a flyer when Kylo darted through on goal only to be hauled down in the box for a peno which Al Farrington cooly dispatched.

Playing some of our best football of the season, roosters doubled the lead minutes later after Cillian Ryan clinically finished putting the league leaders under serious pressure. However the young Tallaght side responded with 2 quick opportunistic goals before the break to leave it level at half time.

The onslaught continued in the second half with the Tallaght side adding two more goals with Rathmines in disarray. With ten minutes to go and 2 goals down Cillian Ryan took it by the scruff of the neck and notched his second after some amazing build up play from Stephen Ross and Pauric Curley. The drama wasn’t over and with minutes left after much pressure the ball broke to Cillo again who finished home inside the box to rescue the point for the Roosters!

Goals: Farrington, Cillo (3)
Assists: Kylo, Ross, Curley (2)

Rathmines Roosters 4-4 Rialto FC

Another home league game, another epic encounter and another 4-4 draw. Amazingly the game panned out just like the previous week with both sides taking 2 goal leads in a heated clash at Whelan Park.

On this occasion Kylo and Cillo gave us the lead only for a depleted Roosters squad to struggle again as Rialto dominated scoring two goals either side of the break.

Al Farrington scored a screamer from outside the box with 20 mins to go which rattled Rialto who absolutely self destructed in the final quarter of the game getting two red cards for violent conduct. Just like the week before the drama was only starting with minutes to go when Eddie Murray poked home after a sustained period of pressure from Rathmines to earn a deserved point causing hysteria on the sideline.

The Roosters could have grabbed an amazing victory in injury time with two clear cut chances however the game finished 4-4 again after two of the most exciting and high scoring games in our short history! Roy of the Rovers stuff. Much to improve on though when we play Shelbourne SSC this Saturday at 1pm in Whelan Park.

Goals: Kylo, Cillo, Al, Eddie
Assists: Eddie, Robbie

Big shout out to Pauric Curley who tore ligaments in his knee after a shocking tackle that went unpunished. Speedy recovery from the club πŸ’ͺ🏻
