After a protracted period of involvement in print education I am on the move at the end of the month. It was a pleasure and honour to be involved in the centenary celebrations as well as this page. I am ceasing to be a moderator on the site and wish you all the very best. May our paths cross.
100 Years of Pr!nt at DIT

In 1911 the School of Printing, which was originally located in Chatham Row, moved to its current location on Bolton Street. Since then the School has become a National Centre of Excellence for print media education in Ireland. The School has gone through some name changes over the last 100 years, reflecting trends in both terminology and technology. Now called the Department of Print & Digital Me
It is with a heavy heart that we advise of the death this evening of Brian Kennedy after a short illness. Brian was head of the school of printing for many years and a stalwart of the printing industry. May Brian rest in peace.
We have just been advised on the death of Lorcán O'hObain. Lorcán taught part-time at the school for a number of years. More recently he worked at Skillnets Ireland after establishing one of the most effective skillnets for the print industry. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife and two children at this time.

Don’t forget our open days for 2018 entry are on Friday 1st and Saturday 2nd of December at DIT Aungier St. Interested in a management degree - 2 days per week full time (approximately). If you have industry experience or are craft certified we can give advanced entry.

Congratulations to Andrew Horan, winner of the Presidents Prize at DITs golf society event today at Lucan Golf Club.
Great to see that the graduating class of 2017 with still two months of college remaining are all lined up with employers. With a minimum starting salary of €29,000 it makes for an interesting career prospect!
Why not consider our technology and combined management degree or recommend it to somebody. We also accept applications for advanced entry if you have a diploma, national craft, senior trade cert or industry experience. Graduates following this stream have started on €46,000.
