Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Sports Partnership were delighted to welcome Uniek Sporten Brabant (Netherlands) recently to Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown as part of an Erasmus+ exchange visit, delivered in partnership with Waterford Sports Partnership and us. 💚 🧡 💜

A major focus of the day was sharing knowledge and best practice, with both BrabantSport and DLR Sports Partnership delivering presentations on their work, programmes and approaches to increasing participation, inclusion and community engagement through sport and physical activity. 👂 🗣️

The visit also provided an opportunity to showcase some of the fantastic clubs, facilities and initiatives helping make DLR a more active and inclusive place:
🚴 Visit to The The Bike Hub
🚲 Cycling Without Age tryout with Clara Clark
⚓ Meeting with Ciara from the Boat Hub to learn about accessible water-based opportunities
🚤 A thrilling powerboat experience provided by Glyn and the team at Irish National Sailing & Powerboat School
🎯 A game of boules with the wonderful Seapoint Boules Club
🌳 Insights from Pat Finnerty on the many successful collaborations and community initiatives in Kilbogget Park including Cabinteely F.C. and Cabinteely Athletic Club
📦 A demonstration of the innovative BoxUp system by our Officer, Angela Monaghan

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to such an engaging and inspiring visit. 👏

We had a brilliant day in Our Lady's Grove with Glow in the Dark Table Tennis as part of our .ie Club! 1st, 2nd and 4th year's were glowing while trying a new sport 🏓🎆

From referees, umpires, judges and technical officials to participants, coaches and volunteers, everyone arrives, prepares and contributes to the sport they love. Officials are not outside sport; they are an essential part of the community that brings it to life. 🤝
