Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Sports Partnership are currently recruiting participants for a research study with University College Dublin exploring women’s and girls’ experiences in sport and physical activity across the lifespan in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown.

Whether you’re very active, somewhat active, or not active at all – your experiences and opinions matter! 💬

📍We’re hosting an information evening on Monday 15th June at 6:30pm in the Samuel Beckett Civic Campus, Ballyogan, and would love to see you there!

At this session, we’ll share more about the research project and how you can take part by exploring:
♀️ Experiences with sport and physical activity
⚡ Barriers and challenges to participation
🏋️ Supports and opportunities that could help women and girls be more active

☕ Light refreshments will be provided to make the chats even more enjoyable.
Your input will help shape future sport and physical activity opportunities within the community.

Ciaran Casey, our ESF+ Social Innovation and Sport Officer, attended the 128th Philippine Independence Day Celebration at the dlr Libraries Lexicon on Friday, 5th June 2026. 🇵🇭
The event, themed “A Journey Through the Pearl of the Orient to the Emerald Isle,” celebrated Filipino culture, heritage, and the strong friendship between the Philippines and Ireland through music, dance, and community engagement. 🇵🇭🤝🇮🇪
The celebration was organised by the Filipino Multicultural Society Ireland, the Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council Local Authority Integration Team and the Philippine Embassy in Ireland.

Building on this celebration, Filipino culture and sport will once again be showcased at the Filipino Celebration Day on Saturday, 11th July 2026 on the green beside the DLR LexIcon. 🇵🇭
Visitors will have the opportunity to watch a demonstration and take part in a "come and try" session of Arnis/Kali, the national martial art of the Philippines, offering a unique opportunity to experience an important part of Filipino sporting heritage. 🥋
