Words from Team Manager - Martin Barr
“It’s an incredible honour to be appointed MXON Team Manager for 2026. Representing Team Ireland for 19 years as a rider gave me some of the proudest moments of my career. My very first race for Team Ireland was at Ernée, and it feels almost surreal that my first event as Team Manager will also be at Ernée. It really feels like things have come full circle.
I know what it means to stand on that start line the pride, the nerves and the responsibility that comes with it. Having lived that experience myself, I’m passionate about giving our riders the best possible support and helping them perform at their highest level. We have a strong selection of experienced riders alongside exciting young talent coming through. We also have a youth development programme running both north and south to support the next generation of riders, and I’m delighted to be involved in that pathway.
Leading the team now is a huge privilege.
