Big thanks to our good friend Dr. Phil Hyland for an outstanding staff talk today on how exercise powerfully boosts mental health!
Phil has been part of The Edge family for years — an avid golfer, passionate advocate, and true believer in the no nonsense interventions. His energy and insights had everyone taking notes and feeling inspired. Some really strong take-home points for our trainers.
We can’t wait to welcome Phil back for another session soon!

A huge congratulations to our dedicated client and longtime friend, _
Niav delivered an outstanding performance, winning the 50m Butterfly at the Irish International Long Course Championships and setting a new Irish Record in the 65-69 age group.
Her discipline, mindset, and training focus remain truly unmatched. We couldn’t be prouder of everything she continues to achieve — a true inspiration both in and out of the pool.
Well done, Niav! 🏆

As the warmer weather arrives and the social calendar fills up, it can be challenging to stay consistent with training.
A clear goal is essential. It provides direction and keeps you focused when motivation naturally fluctuates. Whether your aim is to improve strength, enhance endurance, reduce body fat, or simply feel more energised and capable, having a specific target helps turn intention into steady progress.
Practical tips for summer training in Ireland:
• Schedule sessions and add them to your diary
• Prioritise hydration — water and electrolytes are particularly important during warmer days.
• Stay flexible with your routine during holidays or busy periods — even shorter, focused sessions make a difference.
• Focus on quality rather than duration. A consistent 45-minute workout is far more valuable than missing sessions altogether.
• Track your progress — whether through a training log, measurements, or feedback from your coach.
The habits you build now will set you up strongly for the months ahead. Summer training is an investment in both your short-term wellbeing and long-term fitness.
