April 28th event Update !

Unfortunately due to an accidental double booking by our venue DCU Sport on Sunday April 28th, we are forced to reschedule our planned competition to the 2nd half of 2019. 😞

We explored alternative dates presented to us but these fell either on, or too close to, existing competitions.

With events like Trident, Midlands Open & Grappling Industries on the horizon, hopefully our regular participants can stay busy and sharp. 😉

We will be BACK 🤙 .... see you soon for another massive day of grappling 😁

CONGRATULATIONS to SBG Tullamore on claiming their 2nd Event Trophy of 2018, and in the process clinching the overall Team Title 2018 for Straight Blast Gym Ireland. 🏆

SBG Tullamore have been out in force for all 4 of our 2018 events, demonstrating their grappling prowess under Head Coach Kieran Davern 👍🏻. Watching their memorable battles for top spot with C-MAC Mulhuddart, has been the highlight of our events & with even more clubs embracing the ruleset & fielding strong teams, 2019 is set to be an incredible year 🔥

Will they keep the top spot? We will see 😉

Our grappling competition ran smoothly and finished ahead of time thanks to the huge effort put in by our referees, table staff & fantastic attitudes of all competitors 🙏

We will be back in early 2019 with a few additions & improvements to our format providing a platform for Irelands grapplers to hunt submissions, enjoy an exciting ruleset and share the same mats as Irelands top grappling stars ⭐

Congratulations to ISGL veteran & regular participant Gary Rooney on medalling at the NoGi Worlds.

Gary has lit up our mats with his performances over the past few years. Delighted to see him taking those skills to the world stage 🤙🏼

Overtime rounds starting positions. Back or Arm (Spider Web).

On BACK attackers top arm must point down and only basic hooks to start. Defenders grips must be outside rather than inside the seatbelt.

On ARM attacker must hook with arm nearest head, and be touching bottom leg with other arm. Defenders 2 feet start on the floor and any arms defensive grip they want.

Overtime Rounds are 2 x 1 minute. Only stop rolling on a tap or when referee calls time....AN ESCAPE DOES NOT END THE ROUND!!

After 2 rounds winner is determined in the following order of importance
1. Fastest Submission
2. Fastest Escape
3. Referees Decision

Note : IF the defender submits the attacker he wins AUTOMATICALLY and there is no other rounds....Submission is King in our tournaments 👑🤙🏼
