MOVE FOR MOVEMBER👨🏻✅
A big month full of movement for a big cause.
Thank you so much to everyone who donated!
Movember brought a massive amount of attention to Men’s Mental & Physical Health this year. My aim was to show the importance of exercise and movement for both physical and mental health💆🏻♂️
There is always something you can do.
Sometimes you might be one workout away from feeling a little bit better, more confident and have a clearer mind, but it doesn’t always need to be all or nothing!
Movement is medicine. As a coach, I love showing this to both clients & myself that when programmed and approached well you can always do something!
Over the month I met the challenge of getting 30 workouts and 60km of running done!
At the start of the month I set the goal of running 10k by the end, whilst only having done a few 5k’s before I achieved that goal today🙌🏼
I missed about 2 workouts, but made up for them in the end! My body is very much looking forward to a rest day tomorrow🤝
Onto the next challenge👊🏼

PERFORMANCE
Performance to me, is coming into the gym and doing my best each session.
Improving my performance in the gym over time allows me to continually seek more from myself and ultimately become the strongest version of myself.
Tonight’s talk on Performance was fantastic and allowed myself and to go into more detail on ways we should approach our training, nutrition, recovery in order to get more from our performance!
A big take home for a lot of people was that progress is certainly not linear, perfection does not exist and we must be willing to adapt our efforts accordingly.
Consistent and smart actions will lead us to the results we are after in the long run!

Move for Movember
I will be taking part in Movember this year to raise awareness for Men’s Mental & Physical health by doing 30 workouts through the month of November as well as the 60km run part of the challenge.
Exercise is powerful in so many ways and is something I as a coach and partaker in fitness believe needs to be highlighted!
Running is also something I don’t really do so I am looking forward to the challenge! 👀
we are doing a similar challenge with our members for the month of November as it comes into the darker months.
The goal is to encourage people to move more, learn a new skill and hit 250,000 steps as well as a group 5k run at the end of the month, which will tie in well for me with all the running🏃🏻

GET YOUR NEAT UP OVER SUMMER🌞🕺🏻
In the summer months most people will have more time available during their days to be active!
The longer days can increase your motivation and likelihood of upping your activity on a daily and weekly basis.
Build these habits now so that they will be a part of your lifestyle for months to come 🔨
You will be surprised how many calories you burn through NEAT - Non Exercise Activity Thermogenesis🤨
I have done a post on this previously, you can burn roughly anywhere between 25-50 cals per 1,000 steps depending on the intensity, your height & weight etc🔥
This increased energy output can allow you to have some more food, drink and balance as a whole rather than if you were to rely solely on training in the gym and cardio and neglect your NEAT🏃🏻
Get that activity up🕺🏻
Ps. This hike was certainly not neat however🫠

LIFESTYLE AND FITNESS🤝
A very popular topic for a while now has been combining fitness & body composition goals with living a regular lifestyle, and rightly so!
I made this transformation for a photoshoot last year while being able to work around meals and drinks out along the way, all because I was consistent throughout the process! 🫡
Now, the majority of people won’t also have the goal of being lean for a photoshoot which makes things a whole lot easier as there was certainly still plenty of sacrifice in that process don’t get me wrong.
This more balanced and holistic approach is far more useful and valuable for the majority of people as it shifts away from the ‘All or Nothing’ mindset while on a fitness journey and allows normality🤌🏼
Whether your goal is fat loss, muscle gain, performance or improving your lifestyle in general, you will need to learn to balance these goals with your life ⚖️
How balanced you are going to be is totally up to you🫵🏼
But you must be realistic during the summer months👀🍻
This process requires planning ahead, adapting sensibly based off how things are going aswell as having outside accountability to successfully reach your goal and stay on track along the way.
Take the approach that will be more influential on your life long term!
